An apparatus for coupling components in a fuel delivery system together is presented. The apparatus comprises a first member having a first end, a second end, and throughgoing passageway therebetween. The apparatus further comprises a second member having a throughgoing bore therein. The throughgoing bore is configured to receive the first end of the first member. The first and second members of the apparatus are configured to be affixed together to create a joint between the first end of the first member and the inner wall of the bore of the second member such that the passageway and the bore are in substantial alignment with each other.

Apparatus for coupling components of a fuel delivery system

The present invention is directed to a fluid conduit assembly. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the inventive fluid conduit assembly includes a fluid conduit having an inlet, at least one outlet and a fluid flow passageway therebetween configured to allow for fluid to be communicated between said inlet and said at least one outlet. The inventive fluid conduit assembly further includes at least one damper disposed within the passageway of the fluid conduit. The damper includes a sealed vent configured to vent gases captured by the damper during a brazing process performed on the fluid conduit when unsealed.

A fuel delivery system comprises a fuel rail having a flow channel therein. The fuel delivery system further comprises a fuel injector cup that includes a base at a first end thereof, an opening at a second end thereof opposite the first end, and an inner cavity disposed between the base and the opening. The first end of the fuel injector cup is configured to be disposed within the flow channel of the fuel rail. The fuel delivery system further comprises a heating element. The fuel rail of the fuel delivery system further includes a port therein that is configured for receiving the heating element. Additionally, the fuel injector cup of the fuel delivery system further includes an aperture therein also configured for receiving the heating element.

A fuel delivery system comprising a fuel rail having an outlet and a receptor cup associated therewith. The system further including a fuel injector having an inlet, an outlet and a body therebetween. The inlet is configured for insertion into the cup of the fuel rail and for fluid communication with the outlet thereof. The system still further including a retention clip configured for engagement with the fuel injector and the cup in order to couple the fuel injector with the fuel rail. In the inventive system, the fuel injector further includes a load distribution feature. This feature is configured to engage a portion of the retention clip and to assist with the distribution about the clip of a load applied to the injector.

Attachment for fuel injectors in direct injection fuel systems

A fuel delivery system comprises a fuel rail having an inlet, an outlet and a receptor associated with the outlet. The system further comprises a fuel injector. The inlet of the injector is configured for communication with the outlet of the fuel rail, and the injector outlet is configured for communication with a combustion chamber of an engine. The system still further includes a first feature associated with on one of the fuel rail and the injector, and a second feature associated with the other of the fuel rail and injector. The first and second features cooperate to form a seal between the injector and the fuel rail, and to maintain the axial alignment of the components.

Attachment for fuel injectors in a fuel delivery system

A fuel delivery system in accordance with the present invention comprises a fuel rail having an outlet opening and an outlet cup that is insertable into the outlet opening. The cup includes a flange. The flange includes at least one tab extending therefrom. The cup further defines a vertical axis extending therethrough. The system further includes a fuel injector with an inlet insertable within the cup. The system still further includes a retention clip. The clip includes an inner peripheral surface, at least a portion of which is configured for engagement with the injector when the clip and injector are assembled together. The clip further includes at least one arm, the arm further including a finger configured for spring engagement with the tab of the cup. The clip is operative to limit the movement of the fuel injector when it is assembled with the clip and inserted in the cup.

A fuel rail assembly with crossover conduits for communicating fuel between two fuel rails of a fuel-injected, spark ignited internal combustion engine is provided. The hose has a body with a mechanism for damping pressure pulsations within the fuel rail assembly.

An air fuel delivery system arrangement for an engine is provided, including an air manifold body, having a first set of runners for a first cylinder bank with inlets on a first side and outlets on a second side of the manifold body and a second set of runners for a second cylinder bank with inlets on a second side and outlets on a first side. And a first fuel rail is included, having outlets for connection with fuel injectors for delivering fuel to the first cylinder bank being positioned generally between the inlets of the manifold body. A second fuel rail is also included, having outlets for connection with fuel injectors for delivering fuel to the second cylinder bank being positioned generally between the inlets of the manifold body being generally vertically aligned with the first fuel rail.

Fuel rail delivery system arrangement

A fuel rail for an automotive vehicle with a spark-ignited, reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is provided. The fuel rail has a tubular body with a fuel inlet and a plurality of injector outlets. A damper is provided with a lower cup connected to the tubular body. The damper also has an upper cup with a diaphragm sealably separating the cups.
