A substrate structure is provided, the substrate structure comprising: a molded substrate located within a connector body of a coaxial cable connector and an electrical structure mechanically connected to the molded substrate. The electrical structure is located in a position that is external to a signal path of a radio frequency (RF) signal flowing through the coaxial cable connector. The electrical structure may form a sensing circuit configured to sense physical parameters such as a condition of the RF electrical signal flowing through the connector or a presence of moisture in the connector.

A mating force sensing coaxial cable connector is provided, the connector comprising: a connector body; a sensing circuit positioned on a face of an insulator component, the insulator component located within the connector body; a capacitive space in immediate proximity with the face of the insulator component upon which the sensing circuit is positioned; and a flexible member forming at least one boundary surface of the capacitive space, said flexible member being movable due to mating forces. Such movement or bending of the flexible member causes a change in the capacitive space and the sensing circuit uses this change to determine if the connector as mated is properly tightened.

Coaxial connector with integrated mating force sensor and method of use thereof

A system and method are disclosed for providing an ultra low power scalable digital-to-analog converter architecture. Refresh buffer circuits are provided to buffer a voltage reference resistor string. The refresh buffer circuits may be coupled to the resistor string at selected binary fold points. The refresh buffer circuits can reduce the output impedance of the resistor string. Also, each digital-to-analog converter channel can be provided with a multi-dimensional multiplexer that minimizes settling time. The number of refresh buffer circuits and the number of dimensions of the multiplexer can be selected to maximize circuit performance for a given load capacitance and bit rate of the digital-to-analog converter.

System and method for providing an ultra low power scalable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) architecture

An integrated circuit includes a substrate and a degenerated transistor. The degenerated transistor includes a control terminal formed on the substrate, a channel formed in the substrate beneath the first control terminal, first and second heavily-doped regions embedded in the substrate on opposing sides of the channel, first and second output contacts positioned on the first and second heavily-doped regions, respectively, and a lightly-doped region extending between the first heavily-doped region and the channel. The lightly-doped region has a length that is selected such that the first output contact is spaced from a respective edge of the control terminal by a distance that is at least twice as great as a minimum distance defined for the technology in which the integrated circuit is fabricated and the lightly-doped region has a desired resistance in series with the first output contact.

Method and apparatus for the use of embedded resistance to linearize and improve the matching properties of transistors

A deice maximizes the allowable granularity of adjustment of a bus driver line characteristics by compensating for temperature variations by selecting components that have an opposite and approximately equal thermal coefficient. In the first aspect, component parts may be made smaller because their tolerances need not be made so precise. In the second aspect, duplicating the circuitry with matching characteristics allows one circuit to be operational while the other circuit is tested or dormant. Switching between the two circuits is performed seamlessly with no interruption of device operation.
