There is provided an open roof construction for a vehicle having a closure means () of which at least one of its forward and rearward edges is movable by a guide mechanism. The guide mechanism comprises a stationary guiding (), a slide () engaging said guiding and a link member () that in a sliding and hingeable manner engages the stationary guiding, such that when the slide () moves the respective edge of the closure means () not only moves along with the slide but also is moved away or towards the vehicle.

Open roof construction for a vehicle

A drive mechanism for an automotive vehicle sunroof assembly employs a moving cam and a stationary cam, both of which are engaged by a sunroof pane supporting carriage with cam followers. The specific camming surfaces cause the carriage and pane to move between closed, vent and open position. A method of operating a sunroof assembly is also disclosed.
