A waffle creme sandwich sawing machine having first and second saw mechanisms, each including a row of vertical reciprocating blades. The saw mechanisms are spaced from each other and positioned so their cut lines are at right angles. A pusher mechanism moves a stack of waffle creme sandwich sheets through the first saw mechanism and onto a longitudinally slotted conveyor which moves through said second saw mechanism.

A load handling device for drawing a load up an inclined plane onto a pallet. The device comprises a winch arrangement mounted on a wheeled cart. The cart is provided with a pallet engaging member to be positioned against the side of the pallet which is opposite to the inclined plane.

Load handling apparatus

A conveyor system for grouping columns of articles into spaced group each containing a predetermined number of articles. The columns of articles are fed onto a conveyor having an extendable noser arrangement at the output end which is positioned over the input end of a second conveyor. The noser arrangement is extended to interrupt the flow of articles from the first conveyor to the second conveyor and provide a space on the second conveyor between successive groups of articles. The articles are transferred to the second conveyor as the noser arrangement retracts. A photo-electric device counts the articles as they are transferred and actuates the noser extending mechanism when the predetermined count is reached.

Apparatus for counting and grouping articles

A cam operated slide valve in which a metal plate lies on top of a horizontal stationary metal plate and is moved relative thereto by a two piece adjustable cam wheel. The moveable plate is pivoted to the stationary plate and is formed with a recess in its lower surface. Ports are provided in the stationary plate which are connected by the recess when the valve is in its open position.
