Briefly, the present invention is a paint tray assembly comprising a multi-use paint tray having a trough located therein and at least one removable paint containers retained in a lateral fit within the trough of the paint tray with the removable paint container being separately removable from the trough of the paint tray to allow for individual emptying of paint compartments in the paint tray.

Paint trays

A method and apparatus for spatter painting wherein an open-loop paint applicator which can be a paint roller cover having a set of elongated interconnected members or fibers that are rolled in a shallow layer of paint, preferably a thixotropic paint, to randomly draw paint from the paint reservoirs onto peripheral portions of the open-loop members that extend into the paint reservoir to produce a partially loaded paint roller cover having randomly spaced globules and droplets of paint thereon. When the partially loaded paint roller cover is rolled over a surface the paint globules and droplets located in a random pattern on the paint roller cover are transferred to a surface to produce a &ldquo;spatter effect&rdquo; even though the paint roller cover normally produces a textured surface.

Spatter painting

A decorative painting kit including multiple-color paint applicators and a method of decoratively painting a surface though in situ surface blending of two or more paints of different colors by using a multiple-color paint applicator which is stroked over the same surface a sufficient number of time to at least partially blend the different paint colors. The partial in situ surface blending of two or more paints produces a decorative pattern on the painted surface that is color characterized by having areas with some of the original paint colors and other areas with various blends of the original paint colors thereon to produce a decoratively painted surface.

Paint system

A yoke member comprises a pair of handle-engaging members supported from a connecting member with at least one of the handle-engaging members attached to the connecting member with a living hinge to provide a one-piece attachment for a tool to enable a tool handle to be secured between the handle-engaging members.

A paint roller applicator to create in a user's mind that a paint roller applicator is a tool that can replace a paint brush for applying paint to large or small surfaces, with the invention including a socket housing for holding a paint roller frame, with the socket housing mountable on the base of a conventional paint brush handle, so that a user has a conventional paint brush handle as a hand grip on a paint roller applicator to acquaint the user that a paint roller applicator can be used on large or small surfaces. The user can mount the frame of the paint roller applicator directly in the base of the paint brush handle or in a socket housing that is frictionally held in the normal ferrule band on a flat blade paint brush handle with the socket housing including a member for interlocking connecting the frame of a paint roller applicator thereto and lips for holding my paint roller applicator on the edge of paint tray when the paint roller applicator is not in use.

Paint roller applicators

A brush device is provided which has improved paint loading and smoothing characteristics. More specifically, a brush head member formed of flexible material suitable for adsorbing and releasing liquid paint includes an outer surface comprising fine denier fibers. The brush device is particularly well suited for liquids which require a smooth and even application.

Flocked foam brush

A pressure fed paint roller includes a paint roller shield and handle, a paint roller mounted for rotation within the shield, and a two-piece floating manifold positioned between the top of the shield and the roller. The manifold has a concave paint spreading surface with a row of spaced discharge openings from which paint is discharged under pressure onto the roller surface. An adjustable resilient loop connected between the manifold and the shield urges the manifold toward the roller so that this paint spreading surface engages the paint roller and forces the paint into the outer covering of the roller without impeding rotation of the paint roller.

Paint pad

A paint roller for producing texture paint surfaces having a cylindrical core with a paint applying and texturing cover bonded to the outer surface of the cylindrical core. The paint applying and texturing cover is an open web of interengaged continuous crinkled coarse filaments of resilient material. The open loops of the open web carry the texture paint material, apply it to the surface being painted, and texture it in essentially a single motion. During application, the loop elements are actually immersed in the texture paint material and lift it into peaks, thereby producing deeper textures than has generally been possible in the past.

Paint roller

A paint applicator has a handle and a pad supporting base. A paint applying pad is attached to a first face of the base. First and second flanges, a groove, and a ramp are provided on a second face of the base for receiving and holding the handle. The handle includes a plate with side walls and a lip extending below a front edge of the plate, and a gripping portion. To assemble the paint applicator, the plate is inserted into and slid rearwardly in the first and second flanges. The lip is guided up the ramp and into the groove, where the plate is held in a locking position by the first and second flanges engaging the side walls and the groove, where the plate is held in a locking position by the first and second flanges engaging the side walls and the groove engaging the lip. The gripping portion of the handle is inclined at an angle with respect to the plate to facilitate easy assembly and disassembly of the applicator, as well as to provide an advantageous angle at which to hold the applicator when applying paint to a surface.
