A lighting device for a motor vehicle including a processing module which is configured to receive and process signals of a data bus of the motor vehicle and send a data signal. The lighting device also includes an LED unit configured to emit light, when operational, with an adjustable brightness and a predefined color location. The LED unit has a microcontroller and a plurality of LEDs, and the microcontroller and the plurality of LEDs are surrounded by a housing of the LED unit. Furthermore, the processing module is configured to convert the data signal, which contains control information for the LED unit, into a pulse width-modulated signal of the current supplied to the individual LEDs and to verify whether the pulse width-modulated signal contains information corresponding to the control information for the LED unit.

Lighting device for a motor vehicle

A lighting apparatus for a motor vehicle includes a processing module configured to receive, process and send signals from a data bus of the motor vehicle, and a light-emitting diode (LED) unit configured to emit light of adjustable brightness and prescribed color locus. The LED unit has a microcontroller and a plurality of LEDs, where the microcontroller and the LEDs are surrounded by a package of the LED unit. The LED unit is further configured to communicate bidirectionally with the processing module so that a present status value of the LED unit, which status value is representative of a functionality of the LED unit, is ascertainable by the LED unit and the processing module.

Lighting device and lighting system for a motor vehicle and method for operating a lighting system for a motor vehicle

A lighting unit for a vehicle has a light source carrier with an arrangement of data lines. The lighting unit also has a plurality of light sources positioned on the light source carrier, each of which has an integrated control unit and which are interconnected via the arrangement of data lines in order to exchange data according to a predefined protocol. The rear face of the light source carrier has a plurality of cavities. The front face of the light source carrier is light-conductive, at least in the region of the cavities. The arrangement of data lines is on the rear face of the light source carrier and the line ends of the data lines lead up to or into the number of cavities. At least one light source is fitted into each of the plurality of cavities, such that each light emission surface is oriented towards the floor of the cavity and the light source is electrically contacted and held in the cavity by electrical and mechanical contact with the line ends of the data lines.

Lighting unit with data lines and line ends thereof for a vehicle and method for producing same

A lighting device for a vehicle includes a light source and a linear light emission element for emitting light, which is supplied by the light source via a coupling surface of the light emission element in the light emission element. A light conductor element is provided for distributing and/or directing light, which is supplied by the light emission element in the light conductor element. The light source is linear and is arranged so as to extend parallel to the light emission element so that light from the light source can be coupled to a longitudinal side of the light emission element in an in-coupling surface in the light emission element. The light emission element is arranged at least partially in one side of an open cavity of the light conductor element and force-fittingly and/or form-fittingly held and also can be detached from the light conductor element in a non-destructive manner.

Lighting device for a vehicle

An illumination device for a motor vehicle includes one or more multi-color LED units which each have a settable color point and settable brightness, wherein each multi-color LED unit is an individual semiconductor component having multiple single-color LEDs of different colors and a microcontroller. The single-color LEDs and the microcontroller are surrounded by a housing of the semiconductor component. The microcontroller is designed to control each single-color LED of an associated multi-color LED unit depending on a current temperature value of the associated multi-color LED unit in such a way that a set color point and a set brightness are held constant during operation of the associated multi-color LED unit.

The microcontroller and the LEDs are surrounded by a package of the LED unit, and the LED unit has a temperature sensor configured to measure a present temperature value on the LED unit and to communicate bidirectionally with the processing module so that the present temperature value on the LED unit is ascertainable by the temperature sensor and the processing module.
