A mixing console including a plurality of audio inputs and a plurality of audio processing channels. Control data is received from a microphone which is connected to a given audio input to provide audio data. The control data includes an indication of an audio source associated with a microphone. A router of the mixing console is configured to route the audio data from the given audio input to a given audio processing channel based on the received indication of the audio source.

The invention relates to a mixing console which comprises an input unit configured to receive at least one audio signal channel; a first display configured to display audio signal channel related information; a plurality of control elements configured to control at least one signal characteristic of the at least one audio signal channel, wherein the first display and the plurality of control elements are located on a first surface area of the mixing console. An audio processing apparatus is configured to process audio signals from a plurality of sources. The audio processing apparatus may include a digital interface to receive status data indicating a status of at least one source, and an optical output device having a plurality of groups of graphics display areas which are respectively assigned to one of a plurality of audio channels of the audio processing apparatus. The audio processing apparatus may also include a control device configured to receive the status data, to determine at least one group of graphics display areas based on the received status data, and to control a graphics display area of the determined at least one group to display graphics generated based on the received status data.

An example input device includes a multi-touch sensing display configured to detect multiple simultaneous triggers on a surface of the multi-touch sensing display as distinct input events. The input device also includes at least one mechanical control element arranged on the surface of the multi-touch sensing display. The input event is detected by the multi-touch sensing display in response to actuation of the at least one mechanical control element.

A controller or adjustment device may adjust a value of a parameter for different functions. The adjustment device may include actuators, which may be associated with one or more functions. A light source in proximity to the adjustment device may identify the function of the device. Mixers and filters may automatically modify the hue and/or value of the color based on the selected function. A different color light may be used to identify different functions of the adjustment device.

The invention relates to a slide control for an audio mixer, whereby a slide can be displaced along a defined path in a slit-shaped opening in a front plate. The aim of the invention is to create one such slide control that clearly indicates the function it is carrying out or the parameters it can influence by its position. To this end, an illuminable element is provided, said element extending along the opening.

The invention relates to a process and a device for mixing digital audio signals from a first number of inputs (1 to m) into a second number of outputs (21 to n). In order to create a process and a device that are significantly simpler and cheaper, the data words of the incoming audio signals should be supplied in relation to each other so that the data bits arrive in increasing order with the lowest value bit first, in parallel data streams that are synchronized word-wise and bitwise and can be added up in bitwise fashion.
