A thermal system for a motor vehicle has a coolant-conducting HVS circuit connected to a traction battery, a heating circuit controlling the temperature of a passenger compartment thermally coupled to the HVS circuit, a cooling circuit connected to a heat source and fluidically coupled to the HVS circuit to transfer to the traction battery heat provided by the heat source and transported by the coolant, and a control device configured to, during the heating of the traction battery, branch off at least a proportion of the heat before the transfer to the traction battery and transmit said proportion of the heat into the heating circuit to precondition the heating circuit.

An aeration flap is automatically controlled in a fully variable manner in a vehicle. A target value is read for a flap position or strength of an airflow of an aeration outlet. A plurality of configurations of aeration flap positions are provided wherein each configuration assigns a resultant noise level and a resultant energy demand for each combination of aeration flap positions. A weighting between noise level and energy demand is specified. Each of the read target values are adapted for a flap position or strength of an airflow according to the specified weighting. The development of noise in the vehicle may be influenced advantageously as a result.

A control system and method for a heating system of an electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle is embodied such that when there is a heating request for a passenger compartment of the vehicle, a heating mode is set in order to heat the passenger compartment by heat from a heating circuit. In a mixed mode, an excess heat in the heating circuit is output to the surroundings, or in an excess mode, the excess heat is retained in the heating system, in order to satisfy a heating request. In the mixed mode, a degree of opening of the heating circuit is set such that only a partial quantity of coolant from the heating circuit is exchanged with a cooling circuit. The mixed mode is activated if the excess heat in the heating circuit exceeds a threshold value which is determined in accordance with an external temperature.

Control system for a heating system and method for operating a heating system

A control system for a heating system of an electric or hybrid vehicle with a coolant cooled high voltage store. The control system includes an air conditioning evaporator of a refrigeration circuit of the heating system through which refrigerant circulates to cool the passenger compartment when a cooling requirement for a passenger compartment of the vehicle and for which an air conditioning cooling mode is set. The system further includes a chiller to cool the high voltage store when a cooling requirement for the high voltage store of the vehicle and for which a high voltage store (HVS) cooling mode is set. The control system selects the regulating variable for the compressor from a plurality of different regulating variables based on whether the air conditioning cooling mode is set, whether the HVS cooling mode is set, and/or whether both the air conditioning cooling and HVS cooling modes are set.

A heat pump system for air conditioning a vehicle, in particular an electric or hybrid vehicle, includes an air conditioning unit which has an air conditioning evaporator and a heating heat exchanger, for air conditioning a passenger compartment of the vehicle. A condenser transmits heat from a refrigeration circuit into a coolant circuit, and a chiller transmits heat from the coolant circuit into the refrigeration circuit. The coolant circuit has two branches which are parallel to one another downstream of a low temperature cooler, namely a heating branch which can be shut off and in which the condenser and the heating heat exchanger are arranged, and a cooling branch, in which the chiller and a low temperature heat exchanger for cooling a vehicle component are arranged. Heat pump system and method of operating same

A control system method is disclosed for air-conditioning a vehicle by a heat pump system, wherein one of multiple operating modes is automatically set, depending on the air-conditioning requirement. The passenger space is cooled by an air-conditioning evaporator and/or is heated by a heating heat exchanger. The heating heat exchanger is arranged in a heating branch of a coolant circuit and is provided with heat via a heat pump. If cooling is required, the heating branch is opened and the heating pump is deactivated. If heating is required, the heating branch is closed and heat is fed to the heating heat exchanger via the heat pump. In order to remove heat from the heating branch, same is opened and a low-temperature cooler, the condenser and the heating heat exchanger are operated connected in series.

Control system for air-conditioning a vehicle

A heat pump system for climate control of an electric or hybrid vehicle includes an air conditioning unit having a heating heat exchanger, and an air conditioning unit evaporator having a refrigeration circuit, in which the air conditioning unit evaporator and a condenser are arranged. The refrigeration circuit includes a low temperature (LT) circuit in which at least one electrical power component is arranged. The heat pump system is configured to switch over between a cooling mode and a heating mode. The condenser, which is configured to transfer heat into the LT circuit, and an LT cooler are incorporated into the LT circuit. In the heating mode, the condenser outputs heat into the LT circuit and from there into a heating circuit, in which the heating heat exchanger is arranged, and in the cooling mode, the condenser outputs heat via the LT circuit to the LT cooler.

A heat pump circuit has the following components when seen in the flow direction: a compressor; a condenser or gas cooler; a first coolant/air heat exchanger as a sub-cooler, via which the coolant dispenses heat; a first expansion element; a first coolant/air heat exchanger, via which the coolant absorbs heat from the ambient air; a second expansion element; and a third coolant/air heat exchanger, via which the coolant absorbs heat from the ambient air. A vehicle has a drive motor and a refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant circuit includes, when viewed in the direction of flow of the refrigerant, a compressor, a gas cooler or condenser, an expansion device and an evaporator. A method of heating the interior of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a central heating system and several decentralized heating surfaces constructed as infrared radiators. A vehicle has an electric heating device which in operation reaches a temperature of more than 50&#xb0; C., and includes a flat perforated decorative layer which is disposed on a front face of the heating device. Because of the perforation of the decorative layer, the heating device can radiate infrared radiation through holes provided in the decorative layer directly into a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The vehicle also has a reflector layer which is disposed on a rear face of the heating device facing away from the front face and is provided in order to reflect infrared radiation emitted by the heating device in the direction of the passenger compartment.

A vehicle is provided with a heating device. The heating device includes an electrically driven heat source and a reflector configured to reflect heat radiation emitted by the heat source in the direction of a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The vehicle further includes a contact protection device which is permeable to radiation so that heat radiation reflected by the reflector or emitted by the heat source radiates into the passenger compartment. A method controls an automatic shutdown and start-up process of a drive unit in a motor vehicle by way of a start and stop device, by which the drive unit is automatically shut down when the motor vehicle comes to a halt if predefined shutdown conditions are met, and by which a drive unit, which has been automatically shut down, is automatically started up if at least one start request is made. Before the initiation of an automatic shutdown process of the drive unit, a possible stop duration of the drive unit is predicted, taking into consideration the present operating variables of the vehicle, the state variables, and/or other parameters. Depending on the predicted stop duration, an automatic shutdown process is initiated when all other shutdown conditions are met.
