A driver assistance system may be a vehicle control system configured to perform a driver assistance operation, such as implementing cruise control or performing an automated driving control operation. The control system may be configured to perform a driver assistance operation which includes at least one step which conserves energy stored in at least one battery. The control system may conserve energy by controlling a speed or following distance of a vehicle based on road parameter, such as an uphill grade or downhill grade.

Smart cruise control and ADAS for range extension

A split-flow coolant system is provided. The split-flow coolant system may include a single inlet and multiple coolant distribution channels arranged inside a housing, or cooling plate, of the inverter. The coolant distribution channels may include a coolant chamber connected to the inlet and a coolant path running adjacent to various portions of the inverter. The coolant chamber splits into two separate coolant paths in the inverter housing, or cooling plate, that are then diverted to each of the motors. A first coolant path is diverted to the first motor where the coolant path is arranged to cool the first motor and a second coolant path is diverted to the second motor to cool the second motor. The separate coolant paths may connect to a common outlet at the end of the cooling path for the motors.

Dual inverter and electric motor split-flow cooling system

A smart braking system for a vehicle is provided. The smart braking system selectively activates a braking system of the vehicle when the smart braking system detects a scenario in which it is likely that a constant vehicle speed, rather than an increasing vehicle speed, would be desired by a driver. In one example, a driver releases an accelerator while the vehicle is on a decline but the vehicle accelerates anyway. In this instance, the smart braking system records the speed of the vehicle when the accelerator is released and applies the braking system to maintain the speed of the vehicle at the recorded speed while the vehicle is on the decline. The smart braking system stops activating the braking system upon detecting that braking is no longer needed to slow down the vehicle.

Smart regenerative braking control

Described herein is a method and sanity monitoring system for power modules that detect abnormal conditions with respect to transistors in the power modules. A sanity monitor is added to each transistor. The sanity monitor can include a sensor that detects voltage, current, temperature, magnetic fields or similar parameters that indicate a health of a transistor. A failure handling device receives measurements from the sanity monitors and determines whether the measured parameters are within expected ranges for the transistors. If an abnormality is detected, the failure handling device performs a corrective action. For example, the failure handing device can reduce the overall current in a power stage to prevent remaining transistors from failing. The failure handling device additionally informs the driver, (e.g., via an input/output (I/O device), of the problem, indicating that the driver should bring the car to service.
