A fuse holder comprises first and second body halves. The first body half includes a wall having a fuse cavity, a first channel extending from a first end of the fuse cavity of the first body half, and a second channel extending from a second end of the fuse cavity of the first body half. The second body half includes a wall having a fuse cavity, a third channel extending from a first end of the fuse cavity of the second body half, and a fourth channel extending from a second end of the fuse cavity of the second body half. The first channel and the third channel mate together and form a first fuse lead guide path, and the second channel and the fourth channel mate together and form a second fuse lead guide path.

A rectifier circuit for a power supply includes a diode bridge, a first metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) and a second MOSFET each coupled in parallel with corresponding diodes of the diode bridge to reduce losses associated with bridge diode voltage drops and increase conversion efficiency. A self-driven driver circuit is coupled for controlling switching operation of the first MOSFET and the second MOSFET to operate the first MOSFET and the second MOSFET as high-side floating synchronous rectifiers. Methods of supplying power via a rectifier circuit of a power supply are also described.

According to some aspects of the present disclosure, heat sink assemblies are disclosed. Example heat sink assemblies include a printed circuit board having a first side and a second side. The printed circuit board defines an opening extending from the first side to the second side. The heat sink assembly also includes a heat sink coupled to the first side of the printed circuit board. The heat sink includes a protrusion extending through the through opening of the printed circuit board. The heat sink assembly further includes a surface mounted device coupled to the second side of the printed circuit board. The surface mounted device is in thermal contact with the protrusion of the heat sink to transfer heat from the surface mounted device to the heat sink. Example methods of manufacturing heat sink assemblies are also disclosed.

Heat sink assemblies for surface mounted devices

A multiphase power converter includes a plurality of subconverters and a control circuit. Each subconverter has an input circuit, an output circuit, and a magnetic core coupling the input circuit to the output circuit. The magnetic core of at least one of the plurality of subconverters has a core section that is shared by the magnetic core of another one of the plurality of subconverters. The control circuit is configured to operate the input circuits of the plurality of subconverters with different phases. The magnetic cores may be cores of a transformer, a coupled inductor, etc.

A power supply includes an input terminal, an output terminal, a DC voltage regulator coupled between the input terminal and the output terminal to provide a substantially constant DC output voltage at the output terminal, a voltage divider coupled between the output terminal and ground (e.g., earth ground or another suitable reference potential), the voltage divider including at least a first resistance, a second resistance and a first node between the first resistance and the second resistance, the first node coupled to the DC voltage regulator to provide a feedback voltage to the DC voltage regulator for regulating the DC output voltage, and an adjustable shunt regulator coupled between the output terminal and the first node.

An isolated switching power converter includes a power isolation transformer having at least one primary winding, at least one secondary winding and a plurality of sides, a first power board mechanically coupled to a first side of the transformer, and a second power board mechanically coupled to a second side of the transformer. The first power board includes a primary side circuit electrically coupled to the at least one primary winding, and the second power board includes a secondary side circuit electrically coupled to the at least one secondary winding.

Compact isolated switching power converters

Switching device controllers, drive circuits, power converters and related methods are disclosed. One example controller for a switching device includes a drive circuit for controlling the switching device and an auxiliary circuit coupled to the drive circuit. The auxiliary circuit includes an input for receiving a waveform having alternating first and second intervals. The auxiliary circuit is configured to energize the drive circuit during the first intervals and de-energize the drive circuit during the second intervals. One example method of energizing and de-energizing a drive circuit for a switching device includes receiving a waveform having alternating first and second intervals, energizing the drive circuit during the first intervals, and de-energizing the drive circuit during the second intervals.

Switching power converters and controllers having auxiliary power circuits

Power supplies, power adapters, and related methods are disclosed. One example power supply includes an open loop DC to DC converter having an input for connecting to an input power source and an output for supplying a DC output voltage or current and an enable/disable circuit coupled to the open loop DC to DC converter. The enable/disable circuit is configured to enable and disable the open loop DC to DC converter as a function of the DC output voltage or current. One example method includes determining a DC output voltage or current from an open loop DC to DC converter and enabling and disabling the open loop DC to DC converter as a function of the determined DC output voltage or current.
