A textile machine includes a cheese or cross-wound bobbin winder with winding stations each having a creel for holding a cheese, a reversible rotary cheese drive, a suction nozzle and a swivel drive for swivelling the suction nozzle to the jacket surface of the cheese. A method for grasping a yarn end resting on the cheese includes adjusting a search time during which the inward-swivelled suction nozzle is positioned at the reverse-rotating cheese, in dependence on the instantaneous diameter of the cheese, and on the reverse speed of the rotary cheese drive, which is kept constant over the entire search time. An apparatus for grasping a yarn end resting on the cheese includes a control device, control lines connecting the reversible rotary cheese drive and the swivel drive of the suction nozzle to the control device, and measured value pickups at each winding station for recognizing a predetermined number of cheese revolutions, for detecting the speed of the rotary cheese drive, and for recognizing the swivelled position of the suction nozzle.

Method and apparatus for grasping a yarn end on a cheese

Because of the pot spinning process, it is more difficult to automate the supply of empty tubes, respooling of the spinning cake on an empty tube, and the removal of the spinning cops in a pot spinning machine than with other spinning processors. The present invention provides a completely automatic exchange of spinning cops for empty tubes at the spinning stations of a pot spinning machine by utilizing the yarn guides of pot spinning stations to place full yarn cops produced thereat into an upright position on carriers located on a movable conveyor extending underneath the spinning pots. With the spinning cops deposited onto the conveyor and with the yarn guide returned to a spinning position, the conveyor can transport the carriers with the spinning cops away and can deliver empty tubes to the spinning stations for receipt by the yarn guides to continue the spinning process.

Transport system in a pot spinning machine

A pot spinning device is disclosed for spinning textile yarn in which the spinning pot has an inner wall and the pot is driven by a magnetic bearing device for rotating the spinning pot. The magnetic bearing device provides radial and axial support of the pot. The magnetic bearing device may comprise at least one electromagnet disposed at each end of the spinning pot. At least the ends of the spinning pot may be formed of a magnetic material positioned to interact with the magnetic bearing device. The magnetic material may be formed as an annularly magnetic portion at each end. At least one sensor may be connected to the magnetic bearing device for detecting a displacement of the spinning pot. The magnetic bearing device may have a control device for stabilizing the position of the spinning pot against displacement due to exterior forces. The spinning pot may comprise a rotor of the electric motor. The electric motor may include an annular rotor on the spinning pot. The device for rotating may be an electric motor having a short circuit rotor and a stator. The rotor may be formed of an electrically conducted material surrounding the spinning pot in the area of the stator and wherein the spinning pot may comprise a non-metallic material, with metallic material at the ends.

The invention to a yarn tension sensor, in particular for yarns traveling at high speed, to accurately ascertain even short-term yarn tension fluctuations. According to the invention, a yarn guide element is mounted on one head end of a plunger coil disposed in a magnetic field. A position sensor is disposed in the region of the plunger coil and detects even minimal changes in position of the plunger coil. These changes in position are reported to a controller, at whose output variations in current are generated and supplied to the winding of the plunger coil, the variations being such to compensate for the axial force generated by the yarn and acting upon the plunger coil, thereby making the plunger coil virtually motionless.

Yarn tension sensor for a textile machine

The present invention relates to a brake disk arrangement for a yarn tensioning device wherein at least one of a pair of opposed facing brake disks can be acted upon by a variable pressing force in the direction of the other brake disk. According to the present invention, rotary motion is transmitted from one brake disk to the other in a simple manner, without affecting the brake force, by connecting to one of the brake disks a concentric magnet that is secured against relative rotation with respect to this brake disk, and by connecting to the other brake disk a concentrically arranged body of hysteresis material which is secured against relative rotation with that brake disk. At least the brake disk that can be acted upon the variable pressing force comprises a nonmagnetic material and is changeable in position axially relative to the magnet or the hysteresis material associated with the disk. In alternate embodiments, both brake disks may be provided with a magnet.

Rotationally driven brake disk arrangement of a yarn tensioning device

A pot spinning assembly comprises a spinning pot and a yarn guide extending into the spinning pot. A controlled drive causes a relative motion between the spinning pot and the yarn guide during a spinning process. Yarn is deposited in layers on the inner wall of the spinning pot and a spinning cake is formed. The spinning pot is displaced along its longitudinal central axis between an upper end position and a lower end position. An outlet opening of the yarn guide is located in the vicinity of the lower edge region of the spinning pot when it is in the upper end position. A yarn holder for receiving yarn from the spinning pot, and a substantially horizontal transport apparatus for moving the yarn holder to the spinning pot for rewinding the spinning cake onto the yarn holder is provided. The transport apparatus moves the yarn holder away from the spinning pot when it is in the upper end position.

An apparatus for changing yarn carriers in a textile machine, particularly a ring spinning machine, funnel spinning machine or ring twisting machine, includes a revolver having an axis, a pair of spindles being disposed on the revolver symmetrically to the revolver axis and having axes, and the spindles of the pair being rotatable in mutual alternation between a spinning position and an unwinding or disposal position. According to one embodiment, the axes of the spindles of the pair are inclined relative to the revolver axis by an acute angle and diverge in a direction toward the free ends of the spindles. According to another embodiment, at least two pairs of spindles are disposed on the revolver for serving at least two adjacent spinning or twisting stations of the textile machine, and each two adjacent spindle axes are mutually parallel at a given spacing.
