A satellite positioning system receiver programmed to determine information for a satellite using ephemeris data (), determine information for the same satellite using almanac data (), which may have been previously stored on the receiver, to determine an error between the satellite information determined from the ephemeris data and the satellite information determined from the stored almanac data (), and to update the stored almanac data based upon the error ().

Satellite positioning system receivers and methods

A satellite positioning system receiver having a battery, wherein the receiver is programmed to determine () whether the receiver is connected to a power supply other than its battery, to begin continuous reception () of satellite positioning system navigation data when the receiver is connected to a power supply other than its battery, and to store () the navigation data received in memory of the receiver.

A satellite positioning system receiver programmed to operate synchronously with an expected time of arrival of information from at least one satellite of a satellite positioning system, and to receive the information from the at least one satellite when the receiver is operating during the expected time of arrival of the information. Methods and architectures for code phase searching spread spectrum signals having a repeating sequence of bits. The signals are searched virtually in parallel by segmenting with a divider ( ) received signals by sequentially, partially correlating signal segments with a corresponding replica signal segments for a predetermined number of phase delays during a time interval not greater than that required to form the next signal segment. Multiplexors ( ) and ( ) provide Doppler and replica signal segments data from Doppler signal and replica signal generators ( ) and ( ) to corresponding multipliers ( ) and ( ), respectively, for multiplication with corresponding signal segments in a segment register ( ). The partial correlation results for each phase delay and at each Doppler frequency are stored in corresponding memory locations in a coherent accumulation RAM ( ). The signals may be searched over one or more phase delays and at one or more Doppler frequencies.

Spread spectrum receiver architectures and methods therefor

Multiple links with series resistors are connected to address select transistors and a sense line in a printhead encoding circuit. This arrangement provides an increased number of possible states, thereby increasing the amount of information which can be encoded for such purposes as pen identification.
