An absorbent article comprising a hotmelt adhesive comprising a styrene-block-copolymer (SBC), an amorphous polyolefin and optionally a tackifier. The SBC is preferably selected from the group of SEBS, SEPS and SEP polymers, and the amorphous polyolefin is preferably a propylene-based copolymer (PbP) having a weight-average molecular weight Mw of less than 10 000 g/mol. The hotmelt adhesive bonds two components of the article, for example SAP particles on the core wrap.

Absorbent articles comprising a SBC based hotmelt adhesive

Described herein is an absorbent article including (a) an absorbent core, a first nonwoven material, a second nonwoven material, and a bond area; and (b) a polymeric filler composition disposed within the bond area. The polymeric filler composition has less than 5% of a tackifier. The polymeric filler composition is chosen from a propylene butene copolymer, a polypropylene homopolymer, a propylene ethylene copolymer, and mixtures thereof. The polymeric filler composition has a Tensile Strength at Yield of from about 0.5 MPa to about 10 MPa.

Absorbent article comprising a lotion resistant polymeric filler composition

Described herein is an absorbent article. The absorbent article includes an assembly of components and an adhesive composition joining at least two of the assembly of components together. The adhesive composition includes from about 50 wt. % to about 80 wt. % of one or more copolymers and a blend of one or more heterophase copolymers. The one or more copolymers include from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of monomer units selected from ethylene. 1-butene, and mixtures thereof. The one or more copolymers also include from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of propene monomer units. The adhesive composition is free of polyisobutylene and has a viscosity of from about 2,000 mPa·s to about 11,500 mPa·s at 150° C.

Absorbent article comprising an adhesive composition

An absorbent article (′) comprising a topsheet (), a backsheet (), and an absorbent core (), and at least one nonwoven-nonwoven adhesive bond other than a core stabilization bond, wherein the adhesive of the adhesive bond has a Toughness of at least 11 MJ/m, a Yield Stress of at least 0.7 MPa. The adhesive may further have a storage modulus G′ of at least 7.5 MPa. These are as measured at 37° C. according to the methods described herein. The adhesive comprises at least 5% by weight of the adhesive of a tackifier.

Absorbent article with high toughness adhesive

Disposable absorbent articles assembled from a collection of components using an adhesive composition is disclosed. The adhesive composition comprises at least 90 wt. % of a copolymer, wherein the copolymer comprises from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of propene monomer units and from about 30 mole % to about 75 mole % of 1-butene monomer units. The adhesive composition is free of a heterophase copolymer.

Absorbent article with tackifier-free adhesive

A hotmelt composition comprising, a low molecular weight metallocene-catalyzed polymer, a high molecular weight polymer, an amorphous polyolefin and a tackifier. The hotmelt composition is particularly useful in absorbent articles such as diapers. The hotmelt composition provides especially good nonwoven-film bonds but can also be used for nonwoven-nonwoven bonds.

Tackified hotmelt adhesive composition

A hotmelt composition comprises at least three co-polymers defined by their chemistry and molecular weight. The hotmelt composition may be without tackifiers. The hotmelt can be used in absorbent articles such as diapers comprising two substrates at least partially attached by the hotmelt composition. The hotmelt provides especially good nonwoven-nonwoven bond and nonwoven-film bond.

Described herein is an absorbent article having an absorbent core. The absorbent core includes a superabsorbent polymer material and a superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material. The superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material includes from about 20% to about 70% of a first polymer and from about 30% to about 80% of a second polymer. The superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material has a Shear Viscosity at 10 (1/s) at 230&#xb0; C. of from about 300 mPa&#xb7;s to about 10,000 mPa&#xb7;s.

Described herein is an absorbent article including (a) an absorbent core, a first nonwoven material, a second nonwoven material, and a bond area; and (b) a polymeric filler composition disposed within the bond area. The polymeric filler composition has less than 1% of a tackifier. The polymeric filler composition is chosen from a propylene butene copolymer, a polypropylene homopolymer, a propylene ethylene copolymer, and mixtures thereof. The polymeric filler composition has a Tensile Strength at Yield of from about 0.5 MPa to about 10 MPa. The bond area has a Peak Peel Strength of from about 0.1 N/cm to about 9 N/cm after exposure to a skin-protecting material for 24 hours.

The invention relates to thermoplastic molding compounds having melt viscosities of less than 30,000 mPas for use as a hot-melt adhesive, comprising the components A and B, wherein component A comprises one or more C/Ccopolymers each produced with metallocene catalysts and each having a melt viscosity at 170&#xb0; C. of less than 20,000 mPas, measured according to DIN 53019, and a molecular weight Mof 1000 g/mol to 50,000 g/mol, and component B comprises one or more C/Ccopolymers each produced with metallocene catalysts and each having a melt flow index MI of 1 to 100 g/m in, measured at 190&#xb0; C./2.16 kg, according to ASTM D 1238, and a molecular weight Mof 50,000 g/mol to 300,000 g/mol. Said thermoplastic molding compounds, because of the viscosity and mechanical properties thereof, are suitable for fiber mesh applications.

Described herein is an adhesive composition including a copolymer. The adhesive composition has a viscosity of from about 2,000 mPa&#xb7;s to about 11,500 mPa&#xb7;s at 150&#xb0; C. The adhesive composition has a Storage Modulus at 37&#xb0; C. of from about 3 MPa to 9.5 MPa. The adhesive composition has a Yield Stress at 37&#xb0; C. of from about 0.8 MPa to about 1.45 MPa.

Adhesive composition for absorbent articles

A method of assembling an absorbent article having the steps of: a) providing a hot melt adhesive composition, wherein the adhesive has an amorphous polyolefin composition with more than 40% 1-butene and from about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a second amorphous polymer, and wherein the hot melt adhesive composition comprises less than 5% of a tackifier; b) providing a plurality of absorbent article components; and c) joining at least one of the absorbent article components to another of the absorbent article components using the adhesive so as to assemble the absorbent article.

Described herein is an adhesive composition including (a) from about 70 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of one or more copolymers, and (b) from about 10 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of one or more heterophase copolymers. The one or more copolymers include (i) from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of monomer units selected from the group consisting of ethylene, 1-butene, and mixtures thereof; and (ii) from about 30 mole % to about 70 mole % of propene monomer units. The adhesive composition is free of polyisobutylene. The adhesive composition has a viscosity of from about 2,000 mPa&#xb7;s to about 11,500 mPa&#xb7;s at 150&#xb0; C. The one or more heterophase copolymers includes a first heterophase copolymer and a second heterophase copolymer.
