One end of a coaxial cable is telescoped into one end of a microwave component such as an attenuator with the outer jacket of the cable being metallurgically bonded to the metal housing of the component.

Joint between coaxial cable and microwave component

The band-pass filter portion of a coaxial cable includes filter elements in the form of a laminate of dielectric material having a conductive layer on opposite faces. Attached to each conductive layer is a mass which is the electrical equivalent of a shunt capacitor. Each such mass is joined to a center conductor. A sleeve of dielectric material surrounds each center conductor except in the area of the filter. A seamless tube of dielectric material surrounds the filter elements and the dielectric sleeves. A monolithic jacket of electrically conductive metal surrounds said seamless tube.

Coaxial cable low frequency band-pass filter

The band-pass filter coupling element of a coaxial cable is in the form of a laminent of dielectric material having a conductive layer on opposite faces. Each end face is metallurgically joined to an end face of a center conductor. A sleeve of dielectric material surrounds each center conductor. A seamless tube of dielectric material surrounds the filter elements and the dielectric sleeves. A monolithic jacket of electrically conductive metal surrounds said seamless tube.

Coaxial cable band-pass filter

Circuit components such as frequency filters, impedance transformers, and time delay elements are fabricated into an assembly which is electrically and mechanically coupled to the center conductor. A seamless dielectric material is telescoped over the assembly and then the assembly is telescoped into a seamless outer jacket of conductive material. Then the ID of the outer jacket is reduced into contact with the dielectric material surrounding said assembly and center conductor by drawing said jacket through a die.

Coaxial cable and method of making the same

A broad-band antenna device comprising a variable aperture element which radiates or receives signals in the high frequency portion of the band and a pair of fixed aperture elements which radiate or receive signals in the low frequency portion, the variable aperture element comprising a planar spiral antenna element with a double winding which is electrically coupled to the fixed aperture elements comprising a pair of oppositely positioned center fed slot antenna elements.
