Embodiments of safety trucks incorporate multiple connection points to which a variety of attachments, or combinations of attachments, can be releasably and interchangeably coupled to enable their use with increased effectiveness to safeguard roadway construction, maintenance and repair personnel as they perform tasks within or relatively near to roadway workzones and worksites. Also, methods of operation of the safety truck embodiments enhance their ability to guard and protect roadway construction, maintenance and repair personnel while they work within or relatively near to roadway workzone and worksite locations.

Safety truck attachments, and methods of safety truck use

A system for generating collision data captured by safety monitoring equipment on-board a safety truck may include a processor that receives an indication of a speed of a vehicle approaching the safety truck and that overlays a textual indication of the speed of the vehicle onto frames of video captured of the vehicle. If the processor receives an indication that the vehicle has collided with the safety truck, a timestamp is associated with the video and a predetermined portion preceding the timestamp and after the timestamp is not overwritten.

Roadway work area safety truck

Right and left safety module embodiments are designed to be installed in insets located midway along right and left sides of flatbed trucks. The modules provide 'man baskets' that have lower and upper platforms. While the truck is being driven alongside a roadway work zone, a workperson standing on the module's lower platform either 1) moves traffic delineators one at a time from the upper platform, and then places the delineators at spaced locations alongside the roadway work zone, or 2) removes traffic delineators one at a time from spaced locations alongside the roadway work zone, and then places the delineators onto the upper platform. Vertically movable safety rails and pivotal safety gates of the modules prevent falls from the modules of workpersons standing on the lower platform.

Truck safety modules for assisting workpersons to place and retrieve traffic delineators

A rack structure is provided for supporting an elongate, generally horizontally extending nested stack of substantially identically configured barrel-like traffic delineators at a location atop a cab of a truck, with the nested stack of traffic delineators being laid on one of its sides so the stack extends generally forwardly-rearwardly, with a relatively smaller front end region of the nested stack situated forwardly of a relatively larger rear end region of the nested stack. The rack structure has a forwardly-rearwardly-movable component configured to perimetrically surround and support a portion of the relatively smaller front end region of the stack, and a forwardly-rearwardly extending fixed component that underlies and supports a portion of the relatively larger rear end region of the stack.

Over-cab rack for traffic delineators

A safety truck includes: an over-cab storage rack to store nested stacks of barrel-type safety barriers ('traffic delineators'); a man basket ('safety module') mounted within an inset formed in a flat bed of the safety truck along the left or right side thereof to provide a support platform below the flat bed to enable personnel to ergonomically place the barrel-type safety barriers on a roadway; a sign cage mounted to the flat bed to store components of warning signs; a display board that includes speed detection radar to detect a speed of a vehicle approaching the safety truck, at least one display device to display a message readable from behind the safety truck, and a camera to capture an image of the approaching vehicle; and/or a truck-mounted attenuator (TMA) connected to the rear of the safety truck to absorb kinetic energy of the approaching vehicle colliding with the TMA.

A control valve includes a main body, the first coil assembly arranged on the first side of the main body and having the first contact surface and the first through hole extending from the first contact surface, the second coil assembly arranged on the second side of the main body and having the second contact surface and the second through hole extending from the second contact surface, and a spool arranged within the main body and configured to move between the first and second contact surfaces. The spool has the third contact surface facing the first contact surface, the fourth contact surface facing the second contact surface, and the third through hole extending from the third contact surface to the fourth contact surface. A surface pattern is formed on one or more of the first, second, third and fourth contact surfaces and includes the first recessed portion substantially extending from an inner circumference to an outer circumference of the corresponding one of the first, second, third and fourth contact surfaces.
