This invention relates to a cast liner that provides improved comfort over prior known cast liners. The cast liner provides several layers of material having functions which functionally complement one another. The inner layer comprises a soft highly breathable material with a first layer comprising a high wicking nonwoven material overlying the inner layer and a second layer comprising a stitch bond fabric which is relatively stiff but open and compressible to support the body through the underlying inner and first layers.

High comfort cast liner

This invention relates to making nonwoven fabrics which are durable for machine washing and durable for other wet and hard use or abusive applications. The inventive fabrics comprise two layers of fabric sheet bonded together at closely spaced locations where the bonding includes fibers from both fabrics thoroughly involved with the binder. The inventive fabrics retain the qualities of a spunlaced nonwoven fabric which include low cost, comfort, drapability, softness, absorbency, breathability and others while having the durability comparable to traditional knitted or woven fabrics.

Durable spunlaced fabric structures

An improved reusable adult incontinent absorbent undergarment involving an outer panty with elastic waist band and leg holes and an inner hour-glass shaped insert stitched or attached by the use of VELCRO fasteners to the back and front of the panty without stitching in the crotch. By employing a novel combination of multiple layers of highly absorbent, antimicrobial fabric with an open knit polyester making contact with the skin forming a pad that is free floating in the crotch and an outer non-woven layer of urethane coated stretch fabric as a waterproof liner that is separately free floating and elasticly gathered in the crotch, the propensity for fluid leakage during use is dramatically reduced.

Adult incontinent absorbent undergarment

This invention relates to a spun-laced fabric having improved water absorbency containing a blend of certain hydrophilic cellulosic and pack resistant fibers with a hydrophobic fiber material layer attached to one side of the blend. The fabric may be used as an absorbent layer in a multilayer or laminated structure.

Absorbent spun-laced fabric

A process for hydraulically needling a web of staple fibers into an unbonded flash spun web made of continuous plexifilaments to form a spunlaced nonwoven fabric. The web of staple fibers is positioned against the unbonded flash spun web and then hydraulically needled such that the staple fibers are embedded into and entangled with the unbonded flash spun web to form a spunlaced nonwoven fabric. Optionally, the spunlaced nonwoven fabric can be thermally bonded to maintain or increase the permeability of the fabric. Thermal bonding can be used to control the level of permeability depending on the end-use desired. Spunlaced nonwoven fabrics made by the inventive process are particularly useful in filtration applications (e.g., vacuum cleaner bags) when thermal bonding is employed and as bulky, downproof and featherproof barrier liners for garments, sleeping bags, pillows, comforters and the like when thermal bonding is not employed.
