A two part, curable, epoxy composition useful for potting or sealing electrical devices for use in hazardous locations. Cured reaction products of the epoxy composition meet most or all UL 674 requirements and are useful to seal apertures in electrical equipment. Equipment sealed with the disclosed compositions can meet the UL 674 requirement.

Chemical vapor resistant epoxy composition

The present invention provides two part, room-temperature curable epoxy resin/(meth)acrylate compositions. The compositions provide among other advantageous properties high flash point and low odor, and reaction products thereof demonstrate at least comparable and often improved fixture time, improved adhesion strength, and improved adhesion strength over time, to substrates which are ordinarily difficult to bond (such as plastics) with epoxy-based compositions, as contrasted to commercially available comparable products that are of low flash point and higher odor.

There are disclosed dye-providing compounds comprising color coupler dyes substituted on the phenylene diamine portion with one or two cyclic 1,3-sulfur-nitrogen groups. The dye-providing compounds are capable of releasing the coupler dye upon cleavage in the presence of silver ions or a soluble silver complex. The dye-providing compounds are useful as image-forming materials in color thermographic, photothermographic and other photographic processes.
