The present invention concerns a device for the rotation of a wafer cassette such as between a horizontal orientation and a vertical orientation. The wafer cassette rotation device includes a carriage for receiving and supporting a wafer cassette, a receptacle in which the carriage is supported and rotates, and a drive mechanism for rotating the carriage together with any wafer cassette that has been inserted into the carriage, between horizontal and vertical orientations. The carriage is shaped to receive a standard wafer cassette, the carriage open at both front and top portions, includes wafer cassette supports. Wheels may be attached to opposing side edges of the bottom of the carriage. A cam drive mechanism is used to move the carriage within the receptacle.

Wafer cassette rotation mechanism

Various devices are disclosed for projecting a beam of coherent collimated light at a surface for use as reference lines and planes. The devices are also useful for projecting tracings of light in any of various geometric patterns. The devices comprise a pointer unit containing a light source, such as a laser diode. The light source is mounted so as to undergo periodic reciprocating motion in least one dimension, as imparted by any of various possible mechanisms. Combinations of such motions in two dimensions allows production of an infinite variety of geometric tracings. The pointer unit can be detachably mounted perpendicularly to a rotatable shaft provided by a base portion, or used separately as a level or hand-held pointer.

Laser instrument for tracing reference lines and other geometric figures

A plunger-operated switch assembly, useful for sensing the presence of a movable object such as a door or window, in which a magnetic reed contact is actuated by a magnet in the form of a disk-like roller plunger, or by a smaller magnet carried in the center of a roller plunger. The roller plunger is located in a cavity defined by a housing and projects through an aperture in a face plate including a flange by which the housing can be mounted recessed in a desired location. The magnetic reed contact is held alongside the cavity containing the roller plunger, so that the housing can be compact. A magnetic electrical conductor lead connected with a magnetic reed is located so as to be effectively within the magnetic field of the actuating magnet when the roller plunger is depressed a small distance so that the magnetic reed switch is actuated by a small movement of the plunger.
