A mobile device having a time controlled electronic wallet is disclosed. The mobile device comprises a processor and an electronic wallet application that executes on the processor. The electronic wallet application enters a ready-to-pay mode, initiates a ready-to-pay timer when entering the ready-to-pay mode, transmits the confidential information when in the ready-to-pay mode based on receiving contactless communication, and leaves the ready-to-pay mode when the ready-to-pay timer expires.

A method and system for conveying location-granularity preferences with location-based service requests. A client station will detect a request to initiate a voice call, and before actually initiating the call the client station will send a message into a network indicating how to carry out a location-based service. In this manner, each time the client station accesses a location-based service, the client station will automatically send the instruction message to the service provider directing the provider how to carry out the service. Upon receiving the instructions, the location-based service provider may proceed to determine the location of the client station. The location-based service provider may then adjust the location of the client station according to the instructions. The service provider could then return the location of the client station, adjusted according to the instructions, directly to a location-based application, to provide the requested location-based service to the client station.

A method and system for delivering messages to a user in a computerized communication system, such as an instant messaging (IM) system. When a computer system receives a registration message indicating that a user is currently active at a given station, the computer system responsively sets the given client station as a target station for messages directed to the user. A method and system for delivering location information through a voice messaging system is provided. A mobile subscriber may be directed to a voice messaging system if a party is unavailable or chooses not to accept the call. The voice messaging system may contact a location system to obtain the location of the mobile subscriber based on the location of the mobile subscriber's terminal. Apparatus for processing information stored on a storage medium includes playback circuitry for retrieving information from the storage medium during a play mode of operation. A user control device receives user input. Control circuitry selects a bookmark, corresponding to a location in the retrieved information from the storage medium, in response to the user input, and conditions the playback circuitry to retrieve information from the storage medium starting at the location corresponding to the selected one of a plurality of bookmarks during the play mode of operation.
