An apparatus is provided for remotely rebooting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication devices. In general, the apparatus remotely selects VoIP communication devices connected to a network, reboots the selected devices, and evaluates the status of each device. A processor allows a user to select VoIP communication devices connected to the network and receives inputs pertaining to the reboot operation, including a time input and search criteria. The processor communicates with the designated VoIP communication devices over a packet-switching network to instruct the devices to reboot and monitors each device. In this way, multiple VoIP communication devices may be rebooted from a remote location, and problems or issues that arise during the reboot process may be identified and addressed. An associated method and computer program product are also provided for remotely rebooting VoIP communication devices.

Apparatus for remotely rebooting VoIP communication devices and an associated method and computer program product

A method may include identifying information stored in an application on a user device. The information may be associated with an appointment-related call. The method may also include forwarding a link to the user device via which a communication session with another party can be established, or automatically dialing a telephone number associated with the appointment-related call.

Appointment-related communications

A method includes identifying, by a mobile device, a time, a day, a date or a location, and accessing a database storing first information correlating the time, day, date and location to a personal mode or a business mode for the mobile device. The method also includes identifying, exception information associated with the time, day, date, or location, and identifying user preference information associated with the personal mode and the business mode. The user preference information identifies a background associated with a home screen, icons provided on the home screen, or links to information accessible via the home screen. The method further includes configuring the mobile device in the personal or business mode based on the first information and the exception information, wherein the configuring includes providing, on the home screen, information corresponding to the user preference information associated with either the personal or business mode.

A device may detect an event, determine a display layout in accordance with the event, receive input video streams, merge two or more of the input video streams into a high definition output stream in accordance with the display layout, and send the high definition output stream to a content presentation device.

Enhanced call management services to users receiving incoming calls on extensions on a private branch exchange (PBX) is provided by an application server configured to provide call management services to at least one of the users and a protocol proxy configured to receive call information from the PBX according to a protocol for establishing call sessions. A wireless mesh includes a plurality of user devices. A list is formed that includes information regarding peripheral devices associated with the user devices. One of the user devices identifies one or more of the peripheral devices that correspond to a particular type of peripheral device and selects, from the identified peripheral devices, a particular peripheral device. The particular peripheral device is associated with another user device, and the user device forms a session, with the other user device, that enables the user device to provide commands to the particular peripheral device via the other user device.

Automatic peripheral discovery, authorization, and sharing across an internet protocol network

Virtual handsets may be defined and downloaded to physical devices when desired. The use of virtual handsets may allow a user to have multiple different physical handsets or other devices, all of which can present a relatively consistent interface to the user. In one particular implementation, a profiles may be stored that define personal preference and usage information for the virtual handset. The profile may be downloaded a physical handset for implementation of a user interface at the physical handset based on the personal preference and usage information of the profile.

A device may include a communication interface configured to transmit and receive communications from a second device. A provisioning device intercepts program content from a video client or another multimedia device, where the program content includes copy-protection encryption, and receives additional content from a local router or another networked device, where the additional content is Internet protocol (IP) content. The provisioning device removes the copy-protection encryption from the program content and combines the additional content with the program content. The provisioning device also adds copy-protection encryption to the combined additional content and program content, and sends the copy-protected combined content to a display device.

A system and method for providing secure configuration file exchange is disclosed. The system may include a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) device having a receiver and a processor, and the VoIP device may be configured to: receive, at the receiver, an encrypted first configuration file from a server using a default Uniform Resource Locator (URL) stored in the VoIP device; decrypt, at the processor, the first configuration file using a default key stored in the VoIP device; apply, at the processor, a first set of profile parameters stored in the first configuration file, and the step of applying may include updating the default URL and the default key in the VoIP device with a new URL and a new key stored in the first configuration file; receive, at the receiver, an encrypted second configuration file from the server using the new URL; decrypt, at the processor, the second configuration file using the new key; and apply, at the processor, a second set of profile parameters stored in the second configuration file in order to provide network service from the server to a customer premise equipment (CPE) communicatively coupled to the VoIP device.

System and method for providing secure configuration file provisioning

An apparatus is provided for remotely managing various network elements of a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication system. In general, an apparatus is described for communicating with different network elements of a VoIP communication system, receiving data from each network element, and storing the data. The apparatus includes a processor that communicates with different network elements of a VoIP communication system over a packet-switching network and queries the network elements for particular information. The processor receives and stores the data regarding each network element. In this way, data from multiple different network elements of a VoIP communication system may be remotely accessed and stored, and the data may be analyzed or manipulated to address system problems or monitor conditions of the system from the remote location. A method and computer program product are also provided for remotely managing various network elements of a VoIP communication system.
