A personal service unit (PSU) includes a housing, a dial, and a flow control ring. The dial is rotatable about the housing. The housing includes a longitudinal axis therethrough and a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The dial includes a helical first portion along an interior wall of the dial. The flow control ring includes a helical second portion along an exterior wall of the flow control ring. The helical second portion rotatably mates with the helical first portion and rotation of the dial in a first direction moves the flow control ring in a first direction along the longitudinal axis to cause a first adjustment in airflow past the flow control ring and rotation of the flow control ring in an opposite direction moves the flow control ring in an opposite direction to cause a second adjustment in airflow past the flow control ring.

Universal passenger service unit

A lighting assembly for an aircraft includes a visible light source generating visible light and an ultraviolet light source generating ultraviolet light. The visible light source is disposed adjacent to the ultraviolet light source. The visible light source illuminates a first illumination area with the visible light when the lighting assembly operates in a first operation mode. The ultraviolet light source illuminates a second illumination area with the ultraviolet light when the lighting assembly operates in a second mode of operation. A latch includes a first locking bolt, where a first extended position of the first locking bolt defines a first locked condition and a first retracted position defines a first unlocked condition. The latch also includes a second locking bolt, where a second extended position of the second locking bolt defines a second locked condition and a second retracted position defines a second unlocked condition. A biasing member operatively connects to the first locking bolt to bias the first locking bolt in the first extended position. A lever pivotally connects to the housing and operatively connects to the first locking bolt such that movement of the lever from a closed position to an opened position causes at least the first locking bolt to move from the first extended position to the first retracted position. A locking indicator is provided in associated with the second locking bolt.

A countertop extends along a portion of the first wall. A sink is disposed in the countertop. The countertop defines an under-countertop recess free from obstructions. A toilet is disposed adjacent to both the second wall and the third wall and defines a toilet axis bisecting the toilet. A door extends along at least a portion of the third wall. An access axis is defined that is disposed at an access angle with respect to the toilet axis. When a person in a wheelchair enters the lavatory area along the access axis, the countertop recess accommodates at least a portion of the person's body.

A circuit and method for reducing artifacts in decoded color video and images are disclosed. The circuit includes a buffer for receiving an input pixel in a first color-space, and a detector for determining after transformation into a second color-space, if at least one component of the transformed pixel would fall outside a predetermined range. The determination may be made by comparing components of the input pixel, to corresponding ranges in the first color-space. Upon determining that at least one component of the transformed pixel would be outside a corresponding predetermined bound in the second color-space, the detector causes the circuit to output a pixel in the first color-space, with at least one predetermined component. The output of the circuit may subsequently be converted to the second color-space by an external color-space converter and displayed onto a color display. The method reduces visible artifacts caused by clipping during color-space conversion.

A method and system for aggregating a plurality of links to simulate a unitary connection among one or more nodes in a fibre channel system includes means for striping data frames across the links. One or more programmable hardware mechanisms, operatively connectable to the links and to nodes in the fabric, also are provided. Programmable hardware mechanisms provide in-order delivery of data frames across the links despite the variable link characteristics.

A method and apparatus are presented for operating a time slicing shared memory switch. The apparatus includes a bus for receiving a plurality of data frames in a respective plurality of input channels to the switch. A slice crosspoint applies the plurality of data frames to a shared memory in a time sliced manner. The time slice is established for each section of a shared memory to be staggered so that on any clock cycle, one memory portion is being accessed for writing at least some of the data frames and on a next clock cycle the memory portion is accessed for reading at least a portion of the data.

Method and circuit for replicating data in a fiber channel network, or the like

A method and apparatus for the establishment of dynamic Enterprise System Connection ('ESCON') connections over a Fibre Channel connection allows a port state machine (or port module) to request dynamic ESCON connections from the exchange context of the Fibre Channel frame and to implement dynamic linking of the Fibre Channel exchanges to ESCON ports while also linking and monitoring the status of these connections for all subsequent frames associated on a particular exchange. In a particular embodiment, the method and apparatus provides the ability to establish dynamic connections through an ESCON Director switch based off of the Originator Exchange Identifier ('OX.sub.-- ID') of the FC-2 header and information contained in the FC-4 header of the Fibre Channel frame. Once a connection path has been established for a particular OX.sub.-- ID, that connection is maintained until the exchange is terminated.
