A composition of matter and an interlayer formed of such composition for a laminated glazing comprising polyvinyl butyral resin plasticized with a mixed adipate or a mixture of pure and mixed adipates made from: (a) at least one C.sub.4 to C.sub.9, preferably C.sub.6, alkyl alcohol and (b) at least one cyclo (C.sub.4 to C.sub.10), preferably C.sub.6, alcohol wherein the proportions of (a) and (b) in parts by weight per 100 parts (a) and (b) are: (a) 10-90, preferably 30-80 and (b) 90-10, preferably 70-20.

Plasticized polyvinyl butyral and interlayer thereof

A composition of matter and an interlayer formed of such composition for a laminated glazing comprising polyvinyl butyral resin plasticized with a mixed adipate or a mixture of pure and mixed adipates made from: (a) at least one C.sub.4 to C.sub.9, preferably C.sub.6, alkyl alcohol and (b) at least one cyclo (C.sub.4 to C.sub.10), preferably C.sub.6, alcohol wherein the proportions of (a) and (b) in parts by weight per 100 parts of (a) and (b) are: (a) 10-90, preferably 30-80 and (b) 90-10, preferably 70-20.

A laminate comprising a sheet of the polycarbonate or polyacrylate resin in face-to-face contact with a sheet of polyvinyl butyral plasticized with an effective amount of a plasticizer which is at least a partial ester formed by reaction of an alcohol having from 2 to 4 hydroxyl groups and a C.sub.16 -C.sub.20 unsaturated fatty acid having a hydroxyl group attached to the acid molecule.
