A cleaning cloth has a microfiber composite fleece material in which a first and a second fiber component are arranged in the form of alternating layers, wherein at least one first layer A has the first fiber component in the form of composite filaments which are melt-spun and deposited into a fleece and which are at least partially split into elementary filaments having an average titer of less than 0.1 dtex, preferably between 0.03 dtex and 0.06 dtex, and solidified, and wherein at least one layer B is arranged on the first layer A, wherein the layer B has the second fiber component in the form of fibers deposited into a fleece and solidified and having an average titer of 0.1 to 3 dtex, at least one second layer A is arranged on the layer B.

The invention relates to a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, comprising at least one upstream ply and a support ply that is connected to the upstream ply. The upstream ply is made of a non-woven fabric and has a finer porosity than the support ply. The aim of the invention is to form and further develop a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, in particular in a filter bag in such a manner that the upstream ply can be connected in a stable and economical manner to the support ply. The invention is characterised in that the upstream ply is embodied as a spun bonded non-woven, the continuous filaments of which are at least partially twisted or interwoven with the support ply.

A method with which a textile sheet having good mechanical properties in respect to relatively high values regarding tear propagation resistance can be produced. The textile sheets are used in areas that require relatively high tear propagation resistance. The textile sheets also have relatively high peak tensile values and/or elongation at break values. The method for the production of a tear propagation-resistant textile sheet comprises providing a starting textile sheet made of yarns, fibers or filaments formed of at least two elementary filaments and having an arrangement in cross-section like orange segments or pie slices with the segments or slices made of different polymers, and exposing the starting textile sheet to a compressing heat treatment, wherein the polymer segments are permeated and a substantially non-adhesive bond is achieved between the polymer segments. The textile sheet may comprise nonwoven materials having a specific tear propagation resistance of equal to or greater than 0.4 N per g/m(according to Zungen method, ASTM D 2261).

A cleaning cloth is described made of a microfilament nonwoven weighing from 30 g/m to 500 g/m , the nonwoven being made from melt-spun, stretched continuous multicomponent filaments having a titer of 1.5 to 5 dtex, which are immediately laid down to form a nonwoven, and the continuous multicomponent filaments, optionally after pre-bonding, being split at least to 80% to form continuous micro-filaments having a titer of 0.05 to 1.0 dtex and bonded.

Method and apparatus for producing multi-segmented filaments are provided. In one embodiment a first polymer material is passed into a die, the first polymer material and the die being maintained under predetermined rheological conditions. Next, the first polymer material is extruded through a plurality of die openings in the die, the die openings arranged in a group, the group configured to form at least two elementary filaments. A nonwoven lap of very fine continuous filaments, crimped or not, obtained by means of a controlled direct spinning process, with a weight between 5 g/m.sup.2 and 600 g/m.sup.2, and formed, after napping, of composite filaments separable in the direction of their length, characterized in that said composite filaments have a filament number between 0.3 dTex and 10 dTex and are formed, each, of at least three elementary filaments of at least two different materials and comprising between them at least one plane of separation or cleavage, each elementary filament having a filament number between 0.005 dTex and 2 dTex, the ratio between the cross-sectional area of each elementary filament and the total cross-sectional area of the unitary filament being between 0.5% and 90%.

A process for the production of a two-layer textile reinforcement for the production of bituminous sealing sheets for roofing consists first, from a first layer based on nonwoven cloth, in consolidating this nonwoven cloth by mechanical or hydraulic bonding and in thermostabilizing it. This first consolidated and thermostabilized layer is then assembled with a second mineral fiber layer, either by counter-gluing, or by needling, or by seam knitting. These two latter assembly methods are used only when the second mineral fiber layer is in the form of a grid or cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral filaments. The first assembly method by counter-gluing is itself used no matter what the structure of the second mineral filament layer, whether it be in the form of a grid or a cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral fibers or in the form of a scrim of mineral fibers.
