A bone fixation assembly may include an elongate fixation member and a flexible tensioning element. The elongate fixation member may include a central longitudinal axis, a distal portion couplable to a first bone fragment of a bone, and a proximal portion couplable to a second bone fragment of the bone to provide fixation of the second bone fragment relative to the first bone fragment. The flexible tensioning element may be couplable to the proximal and distal portions of the elongate fixation member to secure the elongate fixation member to the bone. The flexible tensioning element may be configured to span a bone fracture intermediate the first bone fragment and the second bone fragment to preload the bone fracture in compression to resist tensile force imparted across the bone fracture, thereby maintaining fixation of the first bone fragment relative to the second bone fragment.

Tension band systems and methods

A monolithic concrete modular connecting panel system for walls and roofs includes a foundation for a building, wall panels vertically aligned on the foundation and secured to the foundation to form a perimeter of the building. The system includes a plurality of roof panels secured to a top edge of the wall panels and spanning across the perimeter of the building. A plurality of crisscrossing rebar rods and wire mesh within the wall panels and roof panels are connected together with rebar rods of the foundation to form a steel cage for the building. Each wall and roof panel includes a metal frame, and a concrete board that divides the metal frames into an inner section and an outer section. In addition, the system includes concrete sprayed on the outer sections of the wall panels and sprayed or poured on the roof panels to form a monolithic concrete structure.

Monolithic concrete modular connecting panel system for walls and roofs and related methods

Systems and methods for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) are disclosed. According to some embodiments, an osteotomy method may include cutting a tibia with an arcuate cut to separate a tibial plateau of the tibia from a tibial base of the tibia, rotating the tibial plateau relative to the tibial base from a first orientation to a second orientation, and, with the tibial plateau in the second orientation relative to the tibial base, securing an implant to the tibia to secure the tibial plateau to the tibial base. Securing the implant to the tibia may include embedding a first leg of the implant into the tibial base, and embedding a second leg of the implant into the tibial plateau such that the first and second legs apply compression urging the tibial plateau toward the tibial base.

Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy systems and methods

A terminally sterilized medical procedure kit includes a recovered item and a new item packaged together as a single stock keeping unit. A method for processing at least a portion of a first medical procedure kit includes the steps of receiving a recoverable item of the first kit, performing a processing operation on the recoverable item, providing a new item, combining the recoverable item and the new item in a second kit, and terminally sterilizing the second kit. A method for recovering at least a portion of a terminally sterilized medical procedure kit includes the steps of purchasing a recoverable item of the first kit from an owner and receiving the recoverable item by the purchaser.

Surgical kit recovery and reuse system

A tow ball adaptor for coupling an implement hitch to a tow ball includes a plate. A first hole in the plate is complementary to and configured to insert a tow ball that is coupled to a vehicle. A coupler is coupled to the plate and configured to couple to the tow ball to retain the tow ball in the first hole. A cutout that extends into the plate is substantially complementary to and configured to insert an implement hitch. A plurality of third holes in the plate extends linearly between the first hole and the cutout. The third holes are complementary to and positioned to selectively align with a pair of orifices that is positioned singly in an upper and a lower tongue of the implement hitch. A hitch pin is inserted through the orifices and the third hole to couple the implement hitch to the plate.

Tow ball adaptor

Wood preservatives, methods for protecting wood and wood-based products and/or structures utilizing the preservatives, and treated wood and wood-based articles and/or structures incorporating the preservatives are described. Methods are also provided for remediating structures already infected with mold. The subject wood preservative formulation includes a borate compound and a fatty acid. The addition of an emulsifier to the formulation further facilitates application of the treatment. The combination of a borate compound and fatty acid combination typically provide a synergistic effect compared to the additive result provided by the combination's individual components.
