A lift ring device arranged to normally remain in a flush condition, and involving a generally U-shaped lift loop pivotally mounted upon a base plate, such as a base plate mounted on the hatch lid of a boat. The lift loop is equipped with a pair of arm portions of substantially equal length, with each arm portion terminating in a pintle bent out of the plane of the lift loop. The base plate has a central recess defined over a substantial portion of its circumference by angled sidewalls, and in such recess the lift loop normally resides. A pair of symmetrically placed pintle-receiving holes are located in the sidewalls, which holes are elongate in a direction essentially perpendicular to the plane of the central recess. The interaction of the pintles of the lift loop with their respective holes is such as to prohibit the lift loop from residing in a perpendicular direction with respect to the base plate, thus assuring that the lift ring device will not represent a trip hazard.

Self closing lift ring

A strip accumulator includes a frame and means for forming and supporting outer and inner sets of convolutions of strip material. The means forming the outer set of convolutions includes a flexible band which carries rollers thereon, the band being mounted to the frame in such a manner that as the convolutions of strip build up against the rollers, the band will expand. The means forming the inner set of convolutions includes arcuate plates which carry rollers thereon against which the convolutions of strip are formed. Means are provided to move the plates toward and away from each other.

Strip accumulator

Disclosed is a device for accurately indexing a worktable which carries a workpiece thereon upon which work operations are to be performed. The worktable is moved intermittently to successive locations by a pneumatic cylinder under the direction of a program device movable with the worktable. A control device, in its preferred form being a pneumatic logic circuit, reads the program device to actuate the cylinder in accordance with the program, locks the worktable at the desired position, actuates the machine operations, and otherwise directs the entire operation on the workpiece.
