A method using mercury capillary pressure curves for determining various characteristics of formations. The mercury capillary pressure curve is amplified and small changes are used to compute residual saturation, permeability, Archie's exponent m and the resistivity factor F of the formation.

Determining saturation and permeability using mercury capillary pressure

A centrifugal analyzer comprising a container adapted for holding a sample, a centrifuge having a rotor which holds the container, a source of electromagnetic energy and an array of photodiode means. The source is positioned such that at least a portion of the electromagnetic energy provided thereby impinges on the container, and the array of photodiode means is positioned such that at least a portion of the electromagnetic energy that impinges on the container is sensed by the array.

Centrifugal analyzer

A method and apparatus for identifying the fluid in a vessel, such as, a storage tank or pipeline using ultrasonic techniques. The method uses a transducer to project ultrasonic energy through the vessel and a second transducer positioned opposite the first to receive the energy that has been transmitted through the vessel and fluid. The transducers are included in a circuit whose parameters are adjusted to cause the circuit to resonate with the magnitude of the adjusted parameter being related to the fluid in the vessel.
