A piston can include a skirt, a crown, and a cooling gallery. The skirt can have an upper body portion. The crown can be formed at the upper body portion. A wall can be formed underneath the crown so as to define a cooling gallery within the piston. The cooling gallery includes cooling gallery peripheral portion and a cooling gallery central portion. The cooling gallery can be configured to receive and to retain an amount of cooling fluid and to cause movement thereof within the cooling gallery between a cooling gallery peripheral portion and a cooling gallery central portion as the piston travels between top dead center and bottom dead center so as to cool both the piston outer region and the piston center region.

An exhaust gas aftertreatment system includes a housing assembly and a reductant delivery system. The housing assembly includes an upstream housing, a first inlet tube, a second inlet tube, and a mixing housing. The first inlet tube is coupled to the upstream housing and configured to receive a first portion of exhaust gas from the upstream housing. The second inlet tube is coupled to the upstream housing and configured to receive a second portion of the exhaust gas from the upstream housing. The mixing housing is coupled to the first inlet tube and the second inlet tube. The mixing housing is configured to receive the first portion of the exhaust gas from the first inlet tube and receive the second portion of the exhaust gas from the second inlet tube. The mixing housing is separated from the upstream housing by the first inlet tube and the second inlet tube.

An air intake system is provided that supplies charge air to multiple cylinders in an in-line configuration in an uniflow-scavenged, two-stroke opposed-piston engine. The engine is configured such that the intake ports of the cylinders are situated in one intake chamber within the engine block. The air intake chamber includes a feature to balance the mass of air that reaches the intake port of each cylinder in the engine.

A gaseous fuel mixer for an internal combustion engine includes a frustoconical cone and an outlet element extending from the frustoconical cone at an interior portion of the frustoconical cone. The outlet element and the frustoconical cone are located within a mixer passage of an intake system. The mixer passage has an internal diameter. The outlet element includes a plurality of transverse openings that connect a fuel passage formed within the outlet element to the interior portion of the frustoconical cone. The height and diameter of the frustoconical cone and the internal diameter of the passage form specific ratios that provide for uniform mixing of intake air and gaseous fuel prior to the mixture flowing into an intake manifold of the engine.
