A medical fluid microflow assembly having an assembly fluid inlet and an assembly fluid outlet, and a mandrel having a curved exterior surface, the mandrel being positioned within an cavity of a housing so that the exterior surface of the mandrel is substantially parallel to an interior surface of the cavity, and at least one protrusion positioned helically around and extending from the interior surface of the cavity, each protrusion abutting the exterior surface of the mandrel to form a sealed fluid channel which has a channel inlet positioned proximate to the assembly fluid inlet and a channel outlet positioned proximate to the assembly fluid outlet, the exterior surface of the mandrel and the interior surface of the cavity having a minimal or neutral triboelectric value with respect to a fluid.

Microflow restrictor assembly and methods of making the same

A medical apparatus flow restrictor includes a housing having an inlet housing member defining an inlet and a separate outlet housing member mated with said inlet housing member and defining an outlet from the flow restrictor. A fluid path is defined through the housing members between the inlet and outlet. Opposed flow restriction surfaces are defined between at a location along the fluid path such that fluid delivered to the inlet passes between the opposed flow restriction surfaces prior to flowing from the outlet. The opposed flow restriction surfaces have a relative degree of surface roughness and opposed surface area defined as a function of a desired flow rate of fluid through the restrictor.

Flow restrictor device for a medical apparatus

A medical apparatus flow restrictor includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet, and a fluid path defined through the housing between the inlet and the outlet. At least one pair of opposed restriction devices are seated within the housing between the inlet and outlet. The restriction devices have opposed surfaces placed in contact against each other and are disposed in the flow path such that fluid delivered through the inlet passes between the opposing surfaces prior to flowing from the outlet. The opposing surfaces have a relative degree of surface roughness and opposed surface area defined as a function of a desired flow rate of fluid through the restrictor.

A counting mechanism for detecting and registering the number of rounds fired from a recoil gun includes a housing that can be mounted to a component of the gun that exhibits recoil motion upon firing of a round. A counting device is contained within the housing and includes an actuator that is activated by the recoil motion of the gun component upon a round being discharged. A weighted mass is movable within the housing with the recoil motion of the gun component, and the actuator is operably configured with the mass such that movement of the mass resulting from the recoil motion actuates the actuator and increments the counting device.

Mechanism for counting rounds fired from a recoil gun

A medical apparatus flow restrictor includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet, and a fluid flow path defined through the housing between the inlet and outlet. At least one pair of opposed restriction surfaces are provided in contact with each other within the housing between the inlet and the outlet. The restriction surfaces are disposed in the flow path such that fluid delivered to the inlet passes between the opposed restriction surfaces prior to flowing from the outlet. At least one of the restriction surfaces comprises a pattern of fluid passages formed into the surface, the passages having a size and shape and cooperating with the opposed restriction surface such that a desired flow rate of fluid is achieved through the restrictor.

A molded mount of non-crystalline polymer material is configured to have a channel for retaining a silicon chip having a plurality of juxtaposed V-groove formed in a top surface between right and left side portions, thereof, a recessed area being provided in the channel behind the chip for accommodating fiber buffer coating, and a notch being formed in a top portion of the mount between the channel and one side portion thereof, for retaining strengthening fibers of an optical fiber cable, with the V-groove being configured to receive individual optical fibers therein respectively. Two such molded mounts with silicon chips are securely sandwiched together with V-groove of the chips opposing one another to retain optical fibers therebetween.

A high efficiency motor for low velocity and high volume fans and other applications includes an armature, a stator and a motor shaft. The armature is made from plates that collectively have a stack height that give the armature a thickness. The plates are keyed with a keyway and the motor shaft has a key to increase alignment accuracy and armature assembly efficiency. An armature aspect ratio is determined by the armature diameter divided by the armature thickness. Similarly a stator aspect ratio is determined by a stator diameter divided by a stator thickness. The armature and the stator aspect ratios are selected to increase torque output and lower rotational speed of the motor for various power output levels. Magnetic permeability properties of the armature and stator is selected to increase operating efficiency of the motor and decrease motor size. When incorporated into devices such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, and yard blowers, the motor decreases unwanted noise and increases operating efficiency.

High efficiency motor for low velocity, high volume fan and other applications

A direct temperature sensing tool directly senses and provides feedback of the temperature of its cutting environment. The tool comprises a base body defining at least one cutting edge of the tool. A protective coating surrounds the base body and the cutting edge, the protective coating providing a friction-reducing surface for the tool. A thin film temperature sensing device, such as a thermocouple device, is disposed on the base body at a distance from the cutting edge. The temperature sensing device is encapsulated within the protective coating. An electrical connection is defined through the protective coating in electrical communication with the temperature sensing device. The tool is configurable with a machine tool so that the temperature sensing device is in communication with a conversion device of the machine tool for providing an indication of the temperature sensed by the temperature sensing device.
