A miniature audio jack connector () for electrically connecting a mating plug () includes an arched insulative housing (), a number of conductive contacts () retained in the housing () and a pair of switch contacts () containing a movable contact () and an immovable contact (). The housing defines a top wall (), a plug-insertion hole () and an opening () through the top wall. The movable contact defines an elastic arm () with an emboss () extending into the plug-insertion hole and a mating portion for connecting with the immovable contact. An electrical connector () comprises an housing (), a plurality terminals () received in the housing (), a stiffener () engaged with the housing (), a clip () and a lever () pivotably mounted on two opposite sides of the stiffener () and a securing member (). When the securing member () is assembled on the lever (), the barbs of the securing member () engages interferentially with outer surface of one end of the lever (), thus the lever () is reliably secured on the stiffener, and the mechanical connection of the electrical connector is achieved.

An electrical connector includes a housing (). A floor () is defined in a middle of the housing and a plurality of side walls () is defined therearound. The side walls and the floor cooperatively define a substantially rectangular cavity () therebetween. A plurality of passageways () is defined in the floor for receiving a corresponding number of electrical contacts () therein. Each contact includes an arm () extending beyond the floor for contacting with corresponding contacting pad of the LGP (). All the arms extend in a plurality of rows, parallel to one diagonal of the floor, and the arms in a same row are arranged side by side. Each passage includes an upper receiving portion extending into an adjacent passage in the same line, therefore, the passages in the same line are stringed, and a continuous support member is formed between two rows of stringed passages.

An LGA connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of electrical terminals received therein, a stiffener defining a cavity in a middle portion thereof for partially receiving the housing therein. The insulative house is generally rectangular-shaped, which defines a surrounding wall, each corner of the surrounding wall defines a stopper which protruding outwardly. In assembly, when the housing is pushed into the cavity of the stiffener to a predetermined position, the stoppers will abut against the bottom portion for preventing the housing from being excessively pushed into the cavity or being push out of the cavity in a underside direction.

An IC socket () includes an insulative housing () mounted on a burn-in board, a plurality of conductive contacts () received in the housing. The housing defines a recessed area () bounded by two pairs of sidewalls (), the recessed area defining a plurality of passageways therein. One of the sidewalls fabricates a receiving channel () substantially parallel to an upper surface of the recessed area and a fastening channel () substantially perpendicularly communicating with the receiving channel. A bolt () is screwed in the fastening channel. When the IC socket is used, a sensor () is received in the receiving channel and restricted in the proper position by the bolt screwed in the fastening channel.

A land array grid (LGA) connector and a method for assembling an IC chip into the LGA connector is provided. The LGA connector comprises an insulative housing () having a plurality of electrical terminals () received therein, a reinforcement plate () surrounding the insulative housing, a load plate () and a lever () pivotally connected to a same end of the reinforcement plate. The load plate and the lever rotate with respect to the reinforcement plate between an open position and a closed position; and the lever pushes the load plate to move from a middle position to the closed position during the lever rotates from the opening position to the closed position such that a free end of the load plate engages with the reinforcement plate.

An electrical connector assembly () for electrically connecting an electronic package with a circuit substrate. The connector assembly includes a socket and a fastening device surrounding the socket. The fastening device includes a frame (), a metal clip () pivotably mounted to a first end of the frame, and a cam actuator () pivitably mounted to a second end of the frame. The clip includes a post () at a free end () thereof. The cam actuator includes a cam () defining a spiral groove () receiving the post and a driver () assembled to the cam. When the cam is driven, it drives the post downwardly, and simultaneously the clip moves slightly toward the second end of the frame. In addition, the driver at all times remains substantially within the confines of the main body of the frame.

An integrated circuit (IC) socket assembly () includes an IC socket () mounted on a burn-in board () and receiving an IC () therein, a supporting member () assembled on the burn-in board and covering the IC socket, a heat sink () assembled on the supporting member, and an actuation member () assembled on the supporting member. The heat sink includes a jacket () attached on the IC. The jacket defines a U-shaped channel for containing cooling liquid therein. The actuation member is capable of being operated from an open position to a closed position, in which the jacket abuts against a top surface of the IC and the IC is reliably electrically connected with the burn-in board. During burning in, the jacket can quickly efficiently dissipate heat from the IC and associated components the protect the IC from instability and damage.
