A tensioning mechanism for a band saw includes a tension spring assembly coupled with a sliding tension bracket which is adjustably coupled with an upper arm of the band saw. The sliding tension bracket engages an upper band wheel which couples with a band saw blade. A cam assembly is coupled with the tension spring assembly, the cam assembly imparts a rotational force which is translated into a linear tensioning force by the tension spring assembly upon the band saw blade. A cover assembly is selectively engaged with the cam assembly through use of a biasing assembly. The cover assembly includes an index indicator for identifying an index position and includes a handle which enables a user to selectively engage and rotate the cover assembly. The rotation of the handle in turn rotates the cam assembly applying the rotational force which is translated into the tensioning force.

A binder for multi-leafed devices has a pair of spaced brackets each of which has a plurality of prongs extending toward the other bracket. The prongs of one bracket are longer than those of the other bracket and are spaced so as to permit the prongs to be inserted into a multi-leafed device. A stop member is swingably mounted adjacent the bracket with the longer prongs for engaging the prongs and preventing inadvertent release of the multi-leafed device. The stop member is locked in operative position by a projection thereon snugly received in a recess formed in a portion fixed relative to the binder. A folder is provided with a notch therein permitting one of the shorter prongs to be inserted within the folder even though the folder is of greater length than conventional multi-leafed devices used with the binder. The folder defines a first pair of open-ended pockets, a pair of integral flaps on the folder overlying the open ends of the pocket. An integral folded over tab is provided to resist tearing of the folder. The folder is provided with a second pair of open-ended pockets to increase its storage capacity.

Binder and folder for use therewith

The retainer device is used for storage of multi-leafed devices such as magazines, pamphlets, notebooks and the like. Spaced apart brackets are provided either in a binder or secured to a stationary support surface. A plurality of spaced apart relatively long prongs extend from one bracket. A plurality of spaced apart shorter prongs extend from the other bracket. A multi-leafed device is stored in the retainer by first inserting the longer prongs into the center of the leaves until the opposite end of the device clears the shorter prongs. The device is then moved so that the shorter prongs are also inserted thereinto. The longer length of the first set of prongs permits this shifting action without disengaging the longer prongs.
