A flexible robotic kitchen assistant automates the preparation of food items. The robotic kitchen assistant includes a robotic arm, a sensor assembly comprising a plurality of cameras aimed at a kitchen workspace for preparing the food items, a controller operable to move the robotic arm, and a processor. The processor is operable to command the robotic arm to perform a food preparation step on the food items in the kitchen workspace based on order information, recipe information, kitchen equipment information, and camera data. The system is capable of performing a wide range of tasks commonly used in residential and commercial kitchens and is able to work collaboratively with and in close proximity to human kitchen workers.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses disclosed herein can generate vibrations in relation to, for example, synchronous with, audio that is associated with an event being hosted at a venue. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can generate the vibrations at the one or more frequencies over the one or more intervals in time to provide physical sensations to an audience within the venue as the audience is viewing the event. These physical sensations can provide new immersive experiences to the audience as the audience is viewing the event. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can be mechanically coupled, for example, attached, to seats within the venue. The vibrations generated by these systems, methods, and apparatuses can propagate through the seats onto the audience to provide the new immersive experiences to the audience as the audience is viewing the event. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can be attached to the seats at the start of the event and can thereafter be de-attached, or removed, from the seats at the conclusion of the event.

A luminaire includes a housing defining an interior volume. The luminaire also includes a lamp within the interior volume and configured to emit light. Additionally, the luminaire includes a wireless antenna positioned within the interior volume, configured to transmit or receive a wireless signal along a first direction, and configured to be operatively coupled to an access point. The wireless antenna can be entirely within the interior volume. The luminaire can include a first reflective surface within the interior volume and configured to redirect the wireless signal. The lamp can be configured to be electrically coupled to a power inserter that powers the access point.

A dispensing unit is arranged in the enclosure for dispensing the raw ingredients onto a target surface according to a selected flowrate and based on real time feedback measured during dispensing. The workcell is self-contained and is adapted to be conveniently moved (e.g., towed) to a new location. A wide range of entrees may be completed without rearranging or retooling the equipment in the workcell. New food items may be prepared by the workcell by simply selecting the applicable program, or by downloading an update corresponding to the new food item.

These atmospheric effects systems can include multiple portable mobile effects pods that are situated within different locations within the venue to present these atmospheric effects to different locations with the venue.

The exemplary air amplifiers described herein can include one or more absorption materials to passively suppress the unwanted noise generated by the high-velocity, high-volume stream of gas. The exemplary air amplifiers described herein can generate multiple noise suppression waves to actively suppress the unwanted noise generated by the high-velocity, high-volume stream of gas. The multiple noise suppression waves can destructively combine with the unwanted noise generated by the high-velocity, high-volume stream of gas to suppress the unwanted noise.

An automated kitchen assistant system inspects a food preparation area in the kitchen environment using a novel sensor combination. The combination of sensors includes an Infrared (IR) camera that generates IR image data and at least one secondary sensor that generates secondary image data. The IR image data and secondary image data are processed to obtain combined image data. A trained convolutional neural network is employed to automatically compute an output based on the combined image data. The output includes information about the identity and the location of the food item. The output may further be utilized to command a robotic arm, kitchen worker, or otherwise assist in food preparation. Related methods are also described.

A modular robotic kitchen system is conveniently adaptable to perform a wide range of cooking applications. The modular robotic kitchen system can include a plurality of discrete modular units organized in a small footprint such that multiple types of cooking applications can be performed without a need to replace the modular units. Exemplary modular units include an ingredient module, robotic arm module, assembly and packaging module, and warming module. Optionally a transport unit or sled moves the modules into position. The modular kitchen system includes a central processor operable to carry out different cooking applications upon downloading software corresponding to the specific cooking application and without retooling the existing modules.
