A method, system and apparatus are provided for optimized load shaping for optimizing production and consumption of energy. Information signals indicative of a first load shape signal are obtained corresponding to a total load, a renewable energy load of one or more renewable energy sources and a non-renewable energy load of one or more non-renewable energy sources. The first load shape signal corresponding to renewable energy load is removed from a non-renewable energy load to obtain a resulting load shape signal. The resulting load shape is flattened signal by apportioning the resulting load shape signal across time intervals to obtain a flattened load shape signal. At least a portion of the first component corresponding to the renewable energy load is added to the flattened load shape signal to create an optimized load shape signal. The optimized load shape signal is provided to modulate electric loads of energy-consuming devices.

Optimized load shaping system, method and apparatus for optimizing production and consumption of energy

Embodiments include a system, method, and a computer program product for notifying a technician when a repair task the technician is addressing may be negatively impacted by a nearby fault and/or if the technician is qualified to repair a nearby fault. The technician is qualified if the technician has the necessary skills, parts (e.g., materials), and/or equipment (test equipment) required to repair the nearby fault. In addition, embodiments include receiving and responding to queries from a technician to: determine whether any of the repair tasks associated with the technician's assigned tickets are futile tasks based on newly received faults or pending tickets; and determine whether the querying technician is qualified to address (e.g., repair) any newly received faults or pending tickets.

Embodiments avoid reporting downstream child NEs that may be performing poorly due to the upstream failed parent NE. Embodiments associate the one or more customer premise devices, and a customer account with respective NEs of the connectivity trail, perform operational metric tests to determine whether a customer premise device associated with a customer account has failed, determine when an NE of the connectivity trail has failed. Embodiments also include rebooting the failed NE and/or notifying a ticketing system accordingly.

Another aspect of the invention is that it changes pricing often enough throughout the day so that budget-conscious and less fortunate or budget conscious consumers do not have to wait long for favourable pricing in order to cook a meal or otherwise get things done.

One or more of a topology location test and a distance test are applied to determine if a CPE device has moved in a cable plant. An indication of service fraud is provided if the CPE topology location or distance test indicate an unauthorized CPE device move.
