Method and motion encoder for providing a measure indicative of motion of an object. The indicated motion is relative to an image sensing circuitry and in a direction that is perpendicular to an optical axis of the image sensing circuitry when the image sensing circuitry provides image frames sequentially imaging at least part of said object during the motion. The motion encoder obtains image data of a sequence of said image frames and then computes, for at least one pixel position of said sequence of image frames and based on the obtained image data, at least one duration value. Each duration value indicating a duration of consecutively occurring local extreme points in said sequence of image frames. The motion encoder then provides, based on said at least one duration value, said measure indicative of the motion.

Method and an imaging and processing circuit for identifying a certain pixel as a local extreme point. The imaging and processing circuit generates, in a certain sensing element associated with said certain pixel and in two or more of its closest neighboring sensing elements, sensed signal levels, respectively, based on sensed light during an exposure to light. It provides, based on comparisons between said sensed signal levels and at least two different threshold levels, binarized image data of said certain sensing element and said two or more of its closest neighboring sensing elements. The imaging and processing circuit then identifies, by means of a computing element configured to operate on the provided binarized image data, said certain pixel as the local extreme point based on that the provided binarized image data of said certain sensing element differ from the provided binarized image data of said two or more of its closest neighboring sensing elements.

Method and arrangements for identifying a pixel as a local extreme point

Impact time between an image sensing circuitry and an object relatively moving at least partially towards, or away from, the image sensing circuitry can be computed. Image data associated with a respective image frame of a sequence (1 . . . N) of image frames sensed by said image sensing circuitry and which image frames are imaging said object can be received. For each one (i) of multiple pixel positions, a respective duration value (f(i)) indicative of a largest duration of consecutively occurring local extreme points in said sequence (1 . . . N) of image frames can be computed. A local extreme point is present in a pixel position (i) when an image data value of the pixel position (i) is a maxima or minima in relation to image data values of those pixel positions that are closest neighbors to said pixel position (i).

A circuitry for differential amplifying, logical inversion, NAND and/or NOR operations is provided, which includes at least one depletion mode transistor having JFET characteristics. An electrochemical transistor device is provided, comprising a source contact, a drain contact, at least one gate electrode, an electrochemically active element arranged between, and in direct electrical contact with, the source and drain contacts, which electrochemically active element comprises a transistor channel and is of a material comprising an organic material having the ability of electrochemically altering its conductivity through change of redox state thereof, and a solidified electrolyte in direct electrical contact with the electrochemically active element and said at least one gate electrode and interposed between them in such a way that electron flow between the electrochemically active element and said gate electrode(s) is prevented. In the device, flow of electrons between source contact and drain contact is controllable by means of a voltage applied to said gate electrode(s). Also provided are circuits incorporating such electrochemical transistor devices and processes for the production of such devices.

Methods and networks are provided for enabling live video communication by performing image analysis and motion prediction outside the transmitter/encoder, i.e., either in the receiver or in a separate unit. In one aspect, a method for the transferring of moving pictures from a sending station to a receiving station comprises: obtaining, at the receiving station, a predicted picture frame through at least one motion compensation technique; comparing, at the receiving station, the predicted picture frame with the actual picture frame corresponding thereto; generating, at the receiving station, a deviation signal corresponding to the difference between the actual and the predicted frames; transmitting the deviation signal to the sending station; and respectively updating a data model contained in each of the sending and receiving stations, based on the deviation signal.

The invention relates to a method of executing image processing operations such as object recognition or linear/non-linear filtration on a two-dimensional image. This is performed with light-sensitive sensor elements (4) executed in two-dimensional matrix form. The sensor elements (4) are so arranged as to produce an output signal corresponding to the light intensity. The output signal of each sensor element is compared with a monotone increasing or reducing reference value. The extent to which the output signal from the sensor element is greater than or less than the reference value is continuously monitored for each sensor element. An arrangement for the execution of this method comprises a number of sensor elements (4) arranged on a substrate. Each of these has allocated to it on the substrate a comparator (5) so arranged as to compare the output signal of the sensor element with a pre-adjustable reference value and a sub-processor. Each sub-processor (8) is so arranged as to identify the occurrence of combinations of sensor elements (4) for which the output signal has exceeded or has not exceeded the aforementioned reference value.

A method for transmitting ciphered information between two stations while using session keys. According to the method a mutual identification of the stations (AK, A; A,B) is obtained while using an identification device (ID) comprised in each station. Number values (r.sub.1, r.sub.2), originating from each station, may be exchanged by said identification in a form which is so ciphered that the number values may be recovered by the counterpart only. The session key (t.sub.m) is formed on basis of said number values in a modification device (MODIFI). Ciphered data messages are exchanged between the station using the established session key and a message ciphering/deciphering device (MCRY, MDECRY) comprised in each station. According to the method the mutual identification and the establishment of the session key via an open channel may be obtained by transmitting one separate identification sequence in each direction.
