A female electrical connector for use in a separable connector assembly is provided. The female electrical connector includes an elongate insulative body and a female contact disposed within the body. The female electrical connector also includes a tubular support sleeve extending between a first end and a second end. The first end of the tubular support sleeve is connected to the female contact. The tubular support sleeve defines a cavity at the second end. The female electrical connector further includes an insulating coupling connected to the second end of the tubular support sleeve. The insulating coupling includes an insulating sleeve that is moveable between a retracted position, where the insulating sleeve is retracted within the cavity of the tubular support sleeve, and an extended position, where the insulating sleeve extends outward from the cavity and away from the second end of the tubular support sleeve.

A power distribution connector is configured to connect an electrical cable to at least three electrical interfaces. The connector includes a housing with first and second sections. The first section includes a first electrical interface disposed at a first end of the first section and a second electrical interface disposed at a second end opposite the first end. The second section forms a T-shaped intersection with the first section between the first and second electrical interfaces. The second section includes a distal end opposite the T-shaped intersection, the distal end being configured to receive the electrical cable; and a third electrical interface oriented parallel to the first section, disposed adjacent to the second electrical interface, and extending a distance from an axis of the second section that is less than or equal to a distance from the axis of the second section that the second electrical interface extends.

A loadbreak bushing that includes a loadbreak trunk and at least one loadbreak leg. Opposing ends of the loadbreak trunk can include a first connection interface and a second connection interface, respectively, the first connection interface being configured to be matingly received in a bushing well. Each loadbreak leg, which can include a contact assembly having at least a female contact, can extend along a central leg axis from the loadbreak trunk to a third, or leg, connection interface, the central leg axis being slanted or diagonal relative to a central trunk axis of the loadbreak trunk. The third connection interface can be configured to be coupled to an elbow connector that is coupled to a power cable, among other electrical connectors, while the second connection interface can be configured to be coupled to a grounding elbow connector, among other electrical connectors and accessories.

A faulted circuit indicator (FCI) device for installation on a power line includes a housing, a laminate structure fastened to the housing and configured to receive the power line, and a clamp mechanism pivotally fastened to the housing and configured to secure the housing to the power line. The clamp mechanism includes a pair of opposing clamp arms each having a curved configuration. The curved configuration of the clamp arms maintains the power line in a centered relationship within the laminate structure when the clamp arms are engaged on the power line over a range of power line diameters.

An electrical connector includes a body having a bore and an interior surface. The bore is sized to receive a cable conductor of an electrical power cable. The body includes a groove disposed along a length of the interior surface. A wire brush insert is located within the groove and includes a plurality of bristles that extend into at least a portion of the bore. Rotating the cable wire brushing connector relative to the cable conductor cleans the cable conductor prior to securing the cable conductor within the cable wire brushing connector.

A torque controlling break screw is provided for securing a wire or cable within a connector. The break screw comprises a nut, a thin-walled, hollow screw and a torque limiting feature between the nut and the screw.

A high voltage sensing unit includes a housing having an internal bore. A resistive voltage divider, including a primary resistor and a secondary resistor configured in series, is included within the housing. A connecting assembly is configured to attach the high voltage sensing unit to a terminal of a high voltage switching device. The connecting assembly provides an electrical connection from the high voltage switching device to the primary resistor and physically supports the high voltage sensing unit. An interface cable provides an electrical connection from the secondary resistor to a receptacle on the high voltage switching device, which can receive a voltage signal and pass the voltage signal to a controller using existing control wiring.

A mounting pole for high voltage equipment can be adjusted at particular increments to provide for installations at various heights. A base section includes a right-side flange, a left-side flange, and a center web formed substantially in the shape of an I-beam with a front channel. The center web includes a first set of adjustment holes. The base section also includes a control mounting bracket to receive hardware for securing a control unit for a high voltage switch. A channel assembly is slideably contained within the front channel. The channel assembly includes a second set of adjustment holes, and a set of mounting holes to receive hardware for securing the high voltage switch. The base section and the channel assembly are configured so that the first and second set of adjustment holes can be selectively aligned during field operations to set the mounting pole at one of multiple height increments.

A magnetic actuator includes a coil bobbin that has electrical wire wound around a core. The magnetic actuator also includes a plunger located in a central portion of the magnetic actuator and configured to move within a bore located in the central portion, and at least one spring located adjacent the central portion. When electrical current is provided to the electrical wire, an electromagnetic field causes the plunger to move from a first position to a second position, and stored energy associated with the spring aids in moving the plunger to the second position. The magnetic actuator further includes a linking portion coupled to the plunger, wherein the linking portion is configured to initiate an action based on movement of the plunger.

A basic insulating plug (BIP) provides connection to a deadbreak connector. The basic insulating plug includes a first conductive insert and a second conductive insert. An insulative coupling supports the inserts in spaced apart position. An insulative body is molded substantially about the first and second conductive inserts. One of the conductive inserts and the insulative coupling define a flow path to permit flow of insulative material entering one of the conductive inserts to flow through the coupling so as to surround the coupling and substantially surround the first and second inserts.

Pedestal connector mounting holes

The present invention relates to a new and improved connector bar and techniques for making the same. The connector bar includes a metal body having side-by-side conductor ports, transverse threaded pedestal mount apertures, and set screw openings. The transverse threaded pedestal mount apertures extend completely through the body of the connector bar and are adapted for attachment to a pedestal box. The set screw openings are adapted to each receive a set screw for securing a conductor in one of the conductor ports. Preferably, the transverse threaded pedestal mount apertures and set screw openings are formed from the same side of the connector bar.
