A comb polymer that is a dispersant in a binder composition includes an alkaline activating agent, wherein the activating agent is intended for activation of a latently hydraulic and/or puzzolanic binder, and wherein the comb polymer has a polymer backbone formed from a plurality of backbone monomers and a plurality of polymeric side chains each formed from a plurality of side chain monomers and bonded thereto, and wherein at least some of the backbone monomers have one or more ionizable groups, and features a structure constant K of the comb polymer, defined as K=[(N&#x2212;1)z]/nPN&#xd7;10, at least equal to 70, where n is the average number of side chains per comb polymer molecule, N is the average number of backbone monomers per side chain, P is the average number of side chain monomers per side chain, and z is the average number of ionizable groups per side chain-free backbone monomer.

Additives selected from primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl amines and quaternary alkyl ammonium compounds are added to argillaceous gypsum compositions comprising comb polymers to improve the workability thereof. Argillaceous gypsum compositions, dispersing agents, a method for producing argillaceous gypsum compositions, and molded parts that can be produced from the gypsum compositions are also described.
