In accordance with aspects of the present invention, a programmable power management integrated circuit is presented. An integrated circuit can include a plurality of cells, each cell including at least one driver for a switchable element; and a switch matrix and controller coupled to the plurality of cells, the switch matrix and controller being programmable to configure at least one power channel, each power channel including at least one cell of the plurality of cells. A method of providing a power management system using the integrated circuit includes receiving power requirements corresponding to a target device; providing implementation options to achieve the power requirements; selecting a solution from the implementation options; generating a programming file for a power management integrated circuit, and generating a printed circuit board design for the power management integrated circuit.

Configurable power management integrated circuit

In one embodiment, the present invention includes an apparatus having a substrate with vias extending between first and second surfaces thereof, and at least one helical inductor adapted within a via, which may be formed of a conductive material. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Forming a helical inductor

The present invention provides a nonlinear adaptive voltage positioning DC-DC converter method and apparatus that enable improved voltage transient response under changing current conditions for a load with known current draw characteristics. The invention in some embodiments provides that the nonlinear adaptive voltage positioning be adaptable or configurable to a specific, known current load range that comprises less than the full current range that may be provided by the DC-DC converter, to optimize voltage transient response for a particular known load.

The invention relates to a structure of and a process of forming an integrated circuit package that utilizes a thermal interface material layer having an aligned array of carbon nanotubes affixed to a surface of the layer. The thermal interface material is diamond deposited by chemical vapor deposition. The carbon nanotubes are formed by a plasma discharge process on the surface of the CVDD and also may be formed on the surface of the die.

An improved rack-mounted server comprises, in one embodiment, a slidable electronics tray having a top cover secured to the rack, to facilitate access to the tray when it is withdrawn from the rack. The tray also includes a camming mechanism to facilitate insertion of the tray into and its extraction from cable connectors or plugs affixed to the rack. The tray includes, in one embodiment, a movement detection mechanism to power it up or down when tray insertion or removal, respectively, is initiated. In addition, the rack includes an improved cable management system that can accommodate different cables and cable plugs. As a tray is inserted into or removed from the rack, corresponding connectors on the tray are electrically coupled to or uncoupled from cable plugs affixed to the rack, eliminating any need to remove cables from the tray or reinstall them.

The at least one bearing has a multiplicity of rotating sleeves.

Method and apparatus for fan redundancy

A bearing is presented having a multiplicity of rotating sleeves. A bushing is connected to one of the multiplicity of rotating sleeves.
