The present disclosure refers to a housing element for a drug delivery device. The housing element comprises longitudinal axis and defines an interior space for receiving components of a drive mechanism of the drug delivery device and at least a portion of a cartridge of the drug delivery device. The housing element comprises an engagement feature for axially constraining the housing element to a cartridge holder of the drug delivery device. In order to constrain the cartridge in the housing element, it further comprises at least one crush web protruding radially inwards into the interior space. The at least one crush web is angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing element by at least 3° such that when the cartridge is introduced into the interior space the at least one crush web folds radially outwards.

A drug delivery device comprising a housing with an opening, a piston rod having a proximal end and a distal end, and a bearing. The piston rod is adapted to engage the opening for guiding the piston rod during a movement of the piston rod relative to the housing. The piston rod also includes a first attachment element located at the distal end. The bearing has a second attachment element for rotatable attachment of the bearing at the distal end of the piston rod. The first attachment element and/or the second attachment element is elastically deformable in a radial direction for snap engagement of the piston rod and the bearing. The opening is adapted to receive the first attachment element and the second attachment element if attached to each other but preventing disengagement of the first attachment element and the second attachment element if received in the opening.

The present disclosure is generally directed to an attachment mechanism suitable for attaching a module to an object, e.g. to a portion of a drug delivery device. Further, the disclosure is directed to an electronic system, e.g. an electronic add-on module, which is configured to be, e.g. releasably, attached to a drug delivery device as well as an assembly including the electronic add-on module as well as the drug delivery device. Data collection devices for attachment to injection devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, the data collection device includes: a body attachable to a dial member of the injection device, a sensor arrangement comprising a sensor and a scale, and a processor. The sensor is configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to a trigger of the injection device. The processor is configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to the trigger. One of the sensor and the scale is arranged in or on the body and wherein the other one of the sensor and the scale is located on the trigger or is rotationally lockable to the trigger configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to the trigger.

The electronic add-on module includes at least a body configured to be releasably attached to the device housing, a coupler configured to be releasably attached to the device dial grip, and a dial configured to be axially displaceable with respect to the coupler. The electronic add-on module further includes a tube which is configured to be permanently rotationally constrained to the body and configured to be axially displaceable relative to the body wherein the dial is configured to be rotatable relative to the tube at least in a dialing mode.

A sensor device removably attachable to a drug delivery device includes a sensing arrangement arranged within the sensor device and circuitry configured to process signals provided by the sensing arrangement. The sensing arrangement is configured such that, when the sensor device is attached to the drug delivery device, the sensing arrangement is operable to read encoded information present on a rotatable component internal to the drug delivery device and that is able to be sensed through a window or aperture of the drug delivery device, and is operable to sense through the window or aperture at least a part of a drive mechanism of the drug delivery device. The circuitry is configured to determine information relating to a set dose, and to determine information relating to whether the drug delivery device is in a dose setting mode or whether the device is in a dose delivery mode.

The disclosure relates to an injection device for setting and injecting pre-set or user-selectable doses of a medicament, the injection device comprising an elongated housing defining a longitudinal direction and configured to accommodate a cartridge containing the medicament, and a detector arrangement operable to detect a relative movement between a first element and a second element. The first element is subject to a first movement relative to the second element along a first longitudinal direction for setting of a dose, the first element is subject to a second movement relative to the second element along a second longitudinal direction for dispensing of the dose, one of the first movement and the second movement is a helical movement, and the other one of the first movement and the second movement is a sliding movement in the longitudinal direction. The second element comprises at least one reference element fixed to the second element.

Injection device and detector arrangement

A data collection device for attachment to an injection device, such as an injector pen, includes a sensor arrangement to detect movement of a movable component of the injection device relative to the data collection device during delivery of a medicament by the injection device, and a processor arrangement configured to, based on said detected movement, determine a medicament dosage administered by the injection device. The processor arrangement may monitor the time that has elapsed since the medicament dosage was administered, and control a display to show the mediacament dosage and elapsed time to provide a memory aid to the user. In an example embodiment, the sensor arrangement includes an optical encoder and the movable component includes a plurality of light barrier formations. The movable component may be a number sleeve that provides a visual indication of a dose programmed into the injection device.

A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device, the supplemental device having a housing containing at least two electromechanical switches each having an open state and a closed state and a protrusion associated with each switch configured to protrude from the housing so as to contact a rotatable surface of the injection device while the supplemental device is attached to the injection device; and a processor arrangement configured to detect a change in the state of each of the switches; and to determine a direction of rotation of the rotatable surface of the injection device from the detected state changes.

The present invention relates to injectors, such as pen-type injectors, that provide for administration of medicinal products from a multidose cartridge and permit a user to set a delivery dose. An injector may include a housing, a cartridge containing a medicinal product, the cartridge being retained within the housing, means for selecting a dose of the medicinal product to be expelled, and means for expelling the selected dose of the medicinal product. The housing may be a unitary housing within which the means for selecting the dose and the means for expelling the selected dose are moveably retained. Alternatively, the injector may include a housing, a piston rod, an insert located in the housing and through which the piston rod may rotate, ratchet means, a dose dial sleeve, a drive sleeve, a button located on the drive sleeve and rotatable with respect to the drive sleeve, and clutch means which upon depression of the button prevents rotation between the dose dial sleeve and the drive sleeve.
