Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to optimize a guard band of a hardware resource. An example apparatus includes at least one storage device, and at least one processor to execute instructions to identify a phase of a workload based on an output from a machine-learning model, the phase based on a utilization of one or more hardware resources, and based on the phase, control a guard band of a first hardware resource of the one or more hardware resources.

Methods and apparatus to optimize a guard band of a hardware resource

Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to include a system condition engine and non-volatile memory. The system condition engine is configured to monitor a condition associated with an electronic device and non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory can store a predetermined specification range or a specification threshold for the condition and when the condition is outside of the predetermined specification range or exceeds the specification threshold, the system condition engine can record that the condition was outside of the predetermined specification range or exceeded the specification threshold in the non-volatile memory. In an example, the non-volatile memory may be a fuse, especially a field programmable fuse.

Out-of-specification detection

Examples provided herein provide a manner of monitoring performance characteristics of a central processing unit or other instruction executing hardware device and adjusting settings of the central processing unit or other instruction executing hardware device. Performance characteristics can be gathered and stored in a secure memory or storage device. The performance characteristics can be transmitted to a control center using a provisioned network transceiver that does not rely on an operating system executed by the central processing unit or the hardware platform of the central processing unit. The control center can determine settings that are to be applied by the central processing unit or instruction executing hardware device and transmit the settings for use by the central processing unit or instruction executing hardware device.

Remote modification of processor operating parameters

A system and method are provided for assessing and mitigating radio frequency interference (RFI) in a network comprising a plurality of wireless devices. During an RFI assessment phase the process includes receiving an attacker signal to operate as an attacker device and then responding to the attacker signal by transmitting a transmitted interference test packet (ITPkt) to one or more other wireless devices of the plurality of wireless devices. The transmitted ITPkt comprises ITPkt parameters includes a network identifier of the device, a transmission globally unique identifier, and a time of transmission for a transmitted interference test pattern (ITPat). The process additionally includes transmitting the transmitted ITPat at the time of transmission for the transmitted ITPat.

Assessment and mitigation of radio frequency interference of networked devices

System and techniques for autonomously adaptive performance monitoring are described herein. A device state may be measured. A measurement set may be located using the device state. A difference set between the measurement set and a current measurement group may be identified. The current measurement group may be changed into a next measurement group using the difference set. A measurement package created during at least one sample period of the next measurement group may be sent to a remote device.

Autonomously adaptive performance monitoring

A vehicular inductive power transfer system includes a power transmission unit and a power receiving unit. The distance between the units and the overall alignment of the units with respect to each other determines the overall efficiency of the energy transfer between the power transmission unit and the power receiving unit. Magnetic fields produced by the inductive power transfer system may exceed allowable standards or regulations for human exposure to electromagnetic fields. An inductive power transfer control circuit autonomously causes an actuator to position at least one of the power transmission unit or the power receiving unit in a three-dimensional space based on one or more measured power transfer parameters. Such positioning may occur while the vehicle is moving or stationary. The control circuit may further autonomously adjust one or more power transfer parameters to maintain magnetic field exposure levels at or below industry standards or governmental regulations.

Vehicular inductive power transfer systems and methods

Described is an apparatus which comprises: a first array of reliability monitors including first and second reliability monitors, wherein the first and second reliability monitors include first and second switches and first and second conductors, wherein the first and second switches are coupled to first and second conductors, respectively; and first and second comparators coupled to the first and second switches, respectively. Described is an apparatus which comprises: a conductor formed on a metal layer; a switch having a source terminal coupled to the conductor, and a drain terminal coupled to a power supply node, wherein the switch is controllable by a controller; and a comparator having a first input coupled to the power supply node and to the switch, wherein the comparator includes a second input coupled to an adjustable reference.

Apparatus and method for monitoring and predicting reliability of an integrated circuit

Various systems and methods for monitoring integrate circuits for failure are described herein. A system to monitor for potential component failure includes a sensor array interface to obtain a first safety level from a first sensor and a second safety level from a second sensor, the first and second sensors installed in a machine, the first and second safety levels indicating how safe the machine is to operate; and a processor to: obtain configuration parameters from a rule data store; combine the first and second safety levels using the configuration parameters to produce a composite safety level; and initiate a responsive action based on the composite safety level.

Safety inference engine for autonomous systems

An apparatus is described herein. The apparatus includes a power transmit unit coil and an active shielding coil. The power transmit unit coil includes a set of main windings, positioned at a first location on a structure, to carry a first current in a first direction, wherein the first current is to cause an electromagnetic field to emanate from the power transmit unit coil. The active shielding coil is positioned at a second location on the structure and is to carry a second current in a direction substantially opposite the first direction wherein the second current is to cause a reduction of the size of the electromagnetic field.

Wireless charging coil placement for reduced field exposure

A proximity sensing headphone may include a gyroscopic sensor to determine the motion of the headphone structure and a proximity sensor to determine the movement of an external object through a three-dimensional ambient environment. A proximity sensing headphone control circuit determines the relative motion or movement between the headphone structure in the three-dimensional ambient environment and the external object in the three-dimensional ambient environment to determine at least a distance between the headphone structure and the external object and a velocity of the external object through the three-dimensional ambient environment about the headphone structure. The control circuit may provide an alert output if the determined distance between the headphone structure and the external object is less than a defined distance threshold or the velocity of the external object through the three-dimensional ambient environment about the headphone structure exceeds a defined velocity threshold.

Apparatus, method, and system for remotely affecting the functionality and lifetime of an integrated circuit are described herein. One embodiment of a method includes: tracking a plurality of operational metrics relating to a monitored device, sending one or more of the plurality of operational metrics to a remote monitor and responsively receiving a command generated by the remote monitor, generating a threat level based on the plurality of operational metrics and the command, and performing a derating action based on the threat level. The command from the remote monitor may be generated by the remote monitor based, at least in part, on the one or more of the plurality of operational metrics. Alternatively, the command may be generated based on information obtained independently by the remote monitor and not based on the one or more of the plurality of operational metrics.

Architecture for telemetry and adaptive lifetime control of integrated circuits

An apparatus is described that includes a plurality of circuits each designed to exhibit a unique signature code that is determined from manufacturing tolerances associated with a manufacturing process used to manufacture the circuits. The apparatus also includes error circuitry to determine an error has arisen based on a change in signature codes from the plurality of circuits.
