A power tool control system includes a non-contact measurement and alignment device operative with the power tool and enabled to establish various readings, such as power tool settings. A graphical user interface communicatively coupled with the non-contact measurement and alignment device enables user control over and display of the readings from the non-contact measurement and alignment device.

An air compressor assembly includes a compressor configured to provide a source of compressed air and a manifold assembly removably coupled to the compressor and configured to distribute the compressed air to one or more pneumatic tools. The manifold assembly is configured to be coupled to the compressor via an air conduit when the manifold assembly is detached from the compressor so that the manifold assembly is operable at a location remote from the compressor.

The present invention is directed to a method and system for improving motor efficiency. The motor of the present invention may provide at least 1.9 Horsepower (HP) while drawing 15&#x2013;16 Amperes at 120 Volts. The motor of the present invention may provide at least 75% efficiency and the speed of 12,000 to 14,000 RPM. A small size and low weight motor may be provided by the present invention. Further, it is contemplated that the motor of the present invention may be produced at a low cost per unit with a volume of 500,000 to 1,000,000 units per year. It is also contemplated that the motor may be suitable for use in consumer and professional products by complying with recognized safety standards such as U.L., CSA, CEE and the like.

A level includes a laser source for establishing one or more visually identifiable measurement and reading in a work environment or in combination with the use of a power tool. A power tool control system includes a non-contact measurement and alignment device operative with the power tool and enabled to establish various readings, such as power tool settings. A graphical user interface communicatively coupled with the level and/or the non-contact measurement and alignment device enables user control over and display of the readings from the level and/or the non-contact measurement and alignment device.

A method for manufacturing an air compressor assembly including, between a tank welding step and a final assembling step, a step of submerging a welded tank into a dip tank that contains cooling liquid treated with a corrosion inhibitor. In a preferred embodiment, in the submerging step, all air access ports of the welded tank are open to allow the cooling liquid to coat both the inside and outside surfaces of the air tank to maximize corrosion inhibitor protection and increase tank cooling rate. A manifold assembly is provided for controlling and distributing compressed air from an air compressor to one or more air powered tools. The manifold assembly may be attached directly to the air compressor, or, alternately, removed from the air compressor and coupled thereto via an air conduit, e.g., an air hose or the like, so that the manifold assembly can be used at locations remote from the air compressor.

A full power switch assembly for a portable generator that is capable of instantly communicating the presence and operation of a full power switch to the user is disclosed. The present invention is directed to an air compressor assembly including a lifting handle. An air compressor assembly suitable for lifting includes an air reservoir suitable for storing compressed air under pressure, the reservoir having a front-end portion, a rearward portion, a first side portion, and a second side portion. A lift handle assembly suitable for use in lifting the air compressor assembly is at least partially disposed on at least one of the first and second side portions. In an additional aspect of the present invention, an air compressor assembly suitable for lifting includes an air reservoir suitable for storing compressed air having a first end portion and a second end portion. A wheel assembly suitable for transporting the air compressor assembly is disposed on the second end portion of the air reservoir. A transport handle assembly suitable for use in controlling transportation of the air compressor assembly when utilizing the wheel assembly is disposed on the first end portion of the air reservoir. A lifting handle assembly suitable for use in lifting the air compressor assembly is at least at least partially disposed on the second end portion of the air reservoir.

A portable air compressor of the type having a horizontal compressed air storage tank is disclosed wherein the air compressor includes a stable base having a width at least substantially equal to the diameter of the compressed air storage tank. The air compressor may further include tie-down points for securing the air compressor to a platform.
