An approach is provided for developing customized games. Customization information is obtained from a user (or someone preparing the game for the user) in response to a menu of options relating to a game, or is automatically collected from customization information already collected. Gaming information, including rules and design layout, is output in response to the customization information for playing the game.

Method and apparatus for providing customized games

An apparatus includes a plurality of applications and an integrator having a voice recognition module configured to identify at least one voice command from a user. The integrator is configured to integrate information from a remote source into at least one of the plurality of applications based on the identified voice command. A method includes analyzing speech from a first user of a first mobile device having a plurality of applications, identifying a voice command based on the analyzed speech using a voice recognition module, and incorporating information from the remote source into at least one of a plurality of applications based on the identified voice command.

A method, including receiving at a network element, from a first telecommunications enabled device, a control connection request directed to a second telecommunications enabled device, connecting a control connection to the second telecommunications enabled device wherein the control connection is connected without requiring user input at the second telecommunications enabled device to answer the control connection request, and providing access to one or more functionalities of the second telecommunications enabled device to the first telecommunications enabled device through the control connection.

Groups of consenting users such as families can track where other members of the same group are under agreed upon access arrangements. The locating system can operate in a passive mode. Users do not have to actively sign-in or check-in to the locating system for the locating system to obtain individual location determination estimates. The locating system collects communications device usage information from a plurality of communications networks, e.g., landline, cellular, Wi-Fi, DSL. The locations of communication devices and infrastructure are known. Members of locating groups are associated with various communication devices detected are being used. Approximate locations of an individual member or members of a locating group are inferred from detected device usage information. A location report is generated, e.g., in a map, table, or audio format, indicating the determined location of individuals, and optionally including time tags. The report is provided to authorized members of the locating group.

A system and method for providing custom alerts including a processor configured to retrieve a custom alert from a custom alert provider, a receiver configured to receive, from a user, a request to initiate communication with a communications agent, and a transmitter configured to transmit one or more signals over a network to communicate with the communications agent, wherein transmitting the one or more signals includes transmitting the custom alert for output at the communication agent.

System and method for providing custom alerts

Methods and devices for the installation of a fiber optic cable to a house or other building structure are provided. The method may include identifying a preferred location of a customer through an indication left by the customer either on the interior side or exterior side of a wall, forming a through opening in the wall near or at the preferred location, and installing the in-wall termination device in the opening. The in-wall termination device may include a wall plate for attaching to an interior surface of the wall. The wall plate includes one or more connectors for receiving ends of cables extending from the exterior and connecting those cables to other cables extending through the interior of the building structure. The method may allow for the installation of the cable without requiring the presence of the customer or requiring access to the interior of the building structure.

Methods and devices for the installation of the fiber optic cable to a house or other building structure

Preferred systems and methods are disclosed for navigating among a group or lists of programs, such as in a network terminal (such as a set top box) in a video program distribution system which presents a viewer with an electronic program guide comprising a plurality of program titles wherein the order is determined by a program score used to predict a level of interest for the viewer based in part on extrinsic data provided to the network terminal regarding the viewer's characteristics and attributes. The extrinsic data could be obtained based on the individual viewer's specific attributes, or the demographic attributes of similarly situated viewers. The extrinsic data, as well as intrinsic data is processed to provide an ordered list of program which are more reflective of that viewer's interests that a linear listing of programs. The system and method can apply for other applications involving prioritizing selection information.

The invention relates to systems and methods for selectively auto-tabbing between input fields of an interface based on received input. More specifically, the intelligent auto-tabbing systems and methods accommodate different user preferences related to providing input by selectively auto-tabbing between fields based on user preferences. One example of a method according to one embodiment involves receiving an input character and entering the input character into a first field. The entry of that input character into the first field causes a number of characters in the first field to reach a predetermined threshold. A subsequent input character is received subsequent to that input character being entered into the first field. An input focus is positioned in a second field based on the subsequent input character.

Intelligent auto-tabbing systems and methods

A method for flexible billing provides for a service provider to apportion billing for one or more services among a number of parties. The services may be shared among the parties and the bill may be apportioned in accordance with an apportioning scheme, or billing breakout as determined by the parties. The parties may designate a coordinator to administer the service and serve as the contact point between the parties and the service provider. The flexible billing can also provide for one party to pay a portion of the service charges for one or more other parties. Incentives in the form of reduced charges may be provided by the service provider.

Method and system for flexible group ordering and billing

A container suitable as an interface device is provided. The container includes a plurality of walls that define an internal space for storage. The walls include movable portions that correspond to a wiring area within the internal space. The container includes at least a first and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the wiring area is enclosed on at least three sides by the movable portions of the wall. In the second configuration, the movable portions are positioned such that the wiring area is accessible on at least three sides free of any impediments from the container. The container may include an adjustable storage capacity to optimize the overall size of the container to the equipment or other content stored within the container, i.e. minimizing the overall size of the container to match the stored equipment and expanding when needed to accommodate additional equipment.
