A coating system disposed on a surface of a substrate is provided. The coating system includes a bond coating on the surface of the substrate, a protective coating on the bond coating, a thermal barrier coating on the protective coating, and a protective agent disposed within at least some of the voids of the thermal barrier coating. The protective coating is constructed from a ceramic material, and the thermal barrier coating defines a plurality of elongated surface-connected voids. Methods are also generally provided for forming such a coating system.

An expanding needle is provided that includes a tubular body having a proximal end, a needle-tipped distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The expanding needle also includes a longitudinal seam formed on the tubular body. The tubular body is configured to uncurl radially, along the longitudinal seam, thereby transitioning the tubular body from a contracted state to an expanded state to increase an inner diameter of the lumen. In certain embodiments, the tubular body is formed by, for example, a continuous flexible sheet rolled in a lengthwise direction. In that case, the longitudinal seam is defined by a portion of a side of the flexible sheet overlapping an opposing side of the flexible sheet. An expanding needle device, including an expanding needle seated to a needle hub, and a method of increasing an inner diameter of an expanding needle are also provided herein.

An alignment meter for a rail system includes a housing defining a cavity, a flexible member connected to the housing, and at least one strain measuring element provided on the flexible member. The strain measuring element may be configured to measure the strain experienced by the flexible member. At least one strain measuring element may be positioned to measure strain in a horizontal direction relative to the flexible member. The at least one strain measuring element may be positioned to measure strain in a vertical direction relative to the flexible member.

Alignment meter for a rail system

A system and method for measuring medication includes providing a graphical user interface (GUI) including a representation of a medication or a medication container. An indication to measure at least one dimension of the medication or the medication container is provided in the GUI. At least one signal including at least one measured dimension of the medication or the medication container is received by one or more processors that process and store the at least one measured dimension. The at least one measured dimension is provided in the GUI in association with the indication to measure the at least one dimension of the medication or the medication container.
