A cap assembly for providing continuous drip to a faucet exposed to freezing temperatures such as a faucet located outside a house. The cap assembly includes a cap member adapted to be mounted over the end of a faucet, which cap member includes a cylindrical wall portion and a closed end portion having an opening therein. The cap assembly includes an internal annular ridge which is adapted to receive a flow disc within the ridge, which flow disc includes an opening which is non-aligned with the opening in the closed end portion of the cap in order to create a dripping action. A rubber washer is positioned in sealing engagement with the internal annular ridge and the flow disc. A filter member is located within the rubber washer such that, upon mounting of the cap assembly over the end portion of a faucet, a continuous dripping flow through the cap assembly may be provided in order to prevent water within the faucet or within piping leading to the faucet from freezing.

A fan shroud retrofittable about a vehicle's fan and mountable to the fan housing, to prevent access thereto by animals. A first embodiment includes a pair of semi-circular screened housing members which include a pair of aligned, planar flange members. When the respective pairs are joined to the companion pairs of a second housing member, the assembly defines a circular shroud for mounting to the fan housing. A second embodiment for the shroud of this invention consists of a unitary, circular housing having a radially extending opening to override the shaft of the fan.

Deltahaedral heteroborane anions are added to the solution to form a salt with the cesium cations which then precipitates from the solution. The remaining dissolved Cs-deltahaedral heteroborane anion salt is then quantitatively sorbed on active charcoal to remove it from the solution.

Method for preferential retention of cesium cations and their separation

A monitoring device for detecting adulteration of an article used in critical use applications such as a surgical glove where the gloves are worn by the surgeon and are exposed to the body fluids of a patient. The device includes the detection of a particular value of electrical condition, preferably resistance or impedance, as well as the first and second derivatives of electrical condition. These values are monitored in a substantially continuous manner and are smoothed and filtered to determine when a hole or thin spot in the glove occurs. In addition, the device includes an autoranging function which maintains the measured voltage in a prescribed range, thus allowing the device to operate at a higher level of accuracy for a greater period of time than a device without the feature. Also, the device warns the health care professional when the electrical properties of the gloves have degraded to a point where the device may no longer reliably detect holes in the gloves.

Enhanced monitoring device for surgical gloves and other barriers

An apparatus and method for detecting adulteration or a condition of near-adulteration of a glove used in critical use application such as in surgery where the gloves are worn by the surgeon and are exposed to the body fluids of a patient. The apparatus and method includes the detection not only of a particular level of conductivity which may be caused by a hole or thin spot in the glove but also the detection of a sudden change in conductivity which may be caused by a sudden change in the condition of the glove, such as the opening of a hole or a sudden thinning of the glove. In this manner, the apparatus and method provides detection not only for an actual condition of the glove but also for a change in condition of the glove. In addition, the circuit is a low impedance circuit, which automatically and continuously discharge static charge build-up on the surgeon.

The system, which includes both process and apparatus, comprises slurrying of the solids with a solvent, feeding the slurry to a cyclone separation zone integrally connected to a countercurrent extraction zone, separating the slurry into an overflow stream which includes solvent and fine particles of solids and an underflow stream which includes mostly coarse particles of solids in the cyclone separation zone, processing the overflow stream in a cleaning zone with additional solvent, processing the underflow stream in countercurrent relationship with additional solvent through the countercurrent extraction zone, combining the cleaned coarse particles of solids withdrawn from the extraction zone with the cleaned fine particles of solids withdrawn from the cleaning zone and centrifuging the combined cleaned particles to remove residual solvent and recovering the combined solids having reduced contamination for disposal.

Process and apparatus for cleaning particulate solids

1,1-dichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane or 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane are employed as solvents to remove oleophylic material from mineral particulates. In one aspect the method of this invention includes the steps of transporting oil-based mud-laden cuttings to a solid feed tank wherein the oil-based cuttings are subjected to turbulent mixing to leave the surface of the cuttings substantially free of oil. The cuttings are then subjected to countercurrent flow of solvent in order to separate oily solvent and fines smaller than a chosen diameter from the heavier solids. The heavier solids are cleaned of any remaining oil-based muds, separated from cleaning solvent and ultimately returned to the sea environment.

Recovery of viscous oil from geological reservoirs using hydrogen

Method and apparatus for removing oil-based drilling mud from drill cuttings in order to prepare the drill cuttings for an environmentally safe disposal in the sea. A solvent in the range of solvents which may be condensed by ambient seawater and vaporized by heated internal combustion engine coolant is utilized in the process. The method of this invention includes the steps of transporting oil-based mud-laden cuttings to a solid feed tank wherein the oil-based cuttings are subjected to turbulent mixing to leave the surface of the cuttings substantially free of oil. The cuttings are then transported to a countercurrent flow column and subjected to countercurrent, laminar flow of solvent in order to separate oily solvent and fines smaller than a chosen diameter from the heavier solids. The heavier solids are cleaned of any remaining oil-based muds, separated from cleaning solvent and ultimately returned to the sea environment. The method includes the further step of treating the oil-based mud laden solvent for separation of remaining solvent for return of the solvent to the continuous process and for recycling of the recovered oil-based drilling mud into the drilling mud system.

Apparatus and method for removing and recovering oil and/or other

A parts handler comprising a container with a discharge chute secured to a frame which can be transported by a forklift truck. The discharge chute has a spring hinge type door opened by a pull-down handle. The frame is attached and secured to the bottom of the container by hinges located at the same end of the container as is the discharge chute. The container is raised by an ordinary hydraulic floor jack secured to the frame. The jack raises the container by a caster secured to the arm of the jack which operates within a channel secured to the bottom of the container. By raising the arm of the jack, the end of the container opposite the discharge chute rises and parts are allowed to flow from the container by opening of the door of the discharge chute.

An ice fishing hole heater comprises a housing defining an open topped cavity adapted to receive a combustible fuel source. Heater is constructed so that the specific gravity of the housing and the heat source enables the heater to be buoyantly supported in a body of water. The housing also includes ballast weight to maintain the housing in an upright position. Preferably, the housing includes a radially expanded ring which is hollow to stabilize the housing as it floats and which floats at the surface level of the body of water to radiate heat from an expanded surface area into the water in the hole.
