An air intake assembly for a personal watercraft provides air to an internal combustion engine located within a hull cavity includes a housing having a generally horn-shaped configuration that includes a base and an outer end. The housing has an air passage that extends from a base to an outer end. An adaptor assembly connects the base to the hull and is arranged to form a seal around an opening in an upper portion of the hull. The adaptor assembly includes an opening aligned with the air passage. An air intake valve assembly is mounted in the opening with the valve assembly being arranged to be open to allow air flow into the hull when the upper portion of the housing points upward from a horizontal plane through the upper portion of the hull and being further arranged to close whenever the outer end of the housing has a downward pointing component.

This invention relates to chewable objects for animals which contain, as a dentally therapeutic ingredient, one or more cationic substances. The inventive therapeutic animal chews are of sufficient durability to allow for a chewing cycle long enough for the release of the aforementioned cationic substances into saliva. Furthermore, the inventive animal chews may contain an effective amount of a counter-ionic compound, such as an alkali metal salt, to allow for rapid solubilization of said cationic antimicrobial substance into the saliva of an animal chewing thereupon, especially when delivered or carried on a carrier having a negatively charged surface.

A peroxidase-activating oral care composition, in accordance with an embodiment of the invention, includes a non-enzymatic, water-soluble hydrogen peroxide precursor and a pH-adjusting agent capable of producing a selected pH in an aqueous solution. The present invention provides a tooth whitening composition having a transparent first component that is a carrier compound and a transparent second component that is an oxidizing compound which when applied to a stained tooth and exposed to actinic light is activated to facilitate tooth whitening. The invention also provides a method for light-activated tooth whitening which comprises applying a tooth-whitening composition to one or more teeth and exposing said composition to actinic light to activate said oxidizing compound.

An internal combustion engine comprises a piston arranged to move reciprocally in a predetermined direction relative to an engine block. A drive shaft is mounted in the engine block and arranged to be driven by the piston in rotational motion about a first axis perpendicular to the direction of motion of the piston. Rotational motion of the drive shaft is transferred to a first shaft that is mounted in the engine block parallel to the drive shaft. Rotational motion of the first shaft is then transferred to a second shaft such that the engine produces a rotational output about an output axis that is parallel to the direction of reciprocal motion of the piston.
