A conveyor belt module includes a body, a link end formed by the body, and an opening through the link end along a hinge axis. A cover extends from the body in a direction of the hinge axis and a post extends from the cover; a bearing is rotatably engaged with the post. A fastener engages the post to capture the bearing between the cover and the fastener, such that the bearing is housed at least partially between the upper and lower extremes of the body. A track for supporting and guiding the conveyor belt module includes a guide arm extending into a guide channel defined by the body to engage the bearing. The conveyor belt module may also include laterally offset protrusions extending from the link end in opposite directions to inhibit engagement with a drive member.

A link module suitable for use in a conveyor chain intended for travel along an intended direction on a given path. The module includes a first eye and a second eye adjacent the first eye. The eyes define a space therebetween. A roller assembly extends into the space and is detachably mounted between the first and second eyes.

A conveyor support plate includes an upper transport surface configured to receive objects arranged for travel on a conveyor system and a lower surface arranged opposite the upper transport surface. A pair of transversely extending walls and a pair of side walls connect the upper transport surface and the lower surface. A plurality of cavities are formed in the lower surface between the pair of transversely extending walls and the pair of side walls that terminate below the upper transport surface. The cavities are configured to receive a roller that extends through the lower surface to support the support plate during travel on the convey system.

A side-flexing conveyor chain module that distributes chain tension across the width of the belt module includes a first module member and a second module member. The first module member has first link ends extending in a direction of conveyor travel and arcuate first fingers extending in a direction substantially opposite to the direction of conveyor travel. A second module member is pivotally coupled to the first module member about a module vertical axis. The second module member has second link ends extending in a direction substantially opposite to the direction of conveyor travel and arcuate second fingers extending substantially in the direction of conveyor travel which interdigitate with the first fingers. Cam surfaces on the first fingers engage cam surfaces on the second fingers to transfer forces between the first and second module members.

A side-flexing conveyor chain module includes a first module member having at least two first link ends, a second module member having at least two second link ends, and linkages linking at least one of the first link ends to at least one of the second link ends. Separating the chain module into module members and linking the module members together by linkages distributes the chain tension across the width of the chain module, and thus the hinge pin joining adjacent chain modules.

The invention disclosed herein is a connector pin for a modular conveyor belt. The connector pin is fabricated from two separate materials and includes a high strength polymer core which is covered by a low-friction polymer shell. The connector pin is used with a modular conveyor belt that includes a first conveyor link having a link end which is intermeshed with a link end on a second similar conveyor link. The openings in the first link and the second link are axially aligned with respect to each other such that they receive the connector pin of the present invention therein.

Disclosed herein is a conveyor intended for travel along an intended direction on a given path, having laterally spaced and opposed sides, and comprising a chain pin, a first link module including a first plurality of laterally spaced eyes which respectively have therein aligned first bores receiving the chain pin, and which define a series of spaces, and a second link module including a second plurality of laterally spaced eyes which respectively have therein aligned second bores receiving the chain pin to prevent disconnection of the first and second modules, and which are received in the spaces between the first plurality of eyes so as to engage the first plurality of eyes in such manner as to directly transmit tension in the direction of conveyor movement between the first and second link modules at laterally spaced multiple places between the conveyor sides.

A guide rail support assembly for use with a conveyor having a transport chain or belt for transporting articles from one location to another. The guide rail support comprises the combination of guide rail holding assembly for holding a guide rail adjacent the transporter of a conveyor, a support assembly for supporting the guide rail holding assembly, and cam lever mounted on the support and having a first position for securing the holding assembly against movement relative to the support and a second position for releasing the holding assembly for movement relative to the support whereby movement of the cam lever between its first and second positions permits rapid repositioning of the guide rail relative to the transport chain of a conveyor without the use of tools.
