There is provided a drill tool assembly for drilling metallic or other materials, comprising a holder having a mounting slot in which a cutting insert is positioned, and a through tool coolant supply system. The drilling tool system allows for the application of coolant to the rake surfaces of the cutting insert in a manner which facilitates enabling higher penetration rates while maintaining integrity of the cutting edges of the cutting insert. The drilling tool system comprises a holder having a rotational axis and mounting slot. A cutting insert with sides positioned adjacent the side surfaces of the mounting slot and cutting edges extending from the rotational axis is mounted in the slot. The insert includes rake surfaces adjacent the cutting edges that are positioned above the mounting slot. At least one coolant channel is disposed with at least one coolant outlet directed at the sides of the insert at a position below the rake surfaces. The coolant outlet is configured to disperse coolant in a curtain across the entire rake face of each cutting edge.

There is provided a machining assembly and cutting insert for machining metal or like workpieces, wherein the cutting insert body has a cutting end. The cutting end comprises at least one cutting edge and at least one cutting lip formed adjacent the at least one cutting edge. The at least one cutting lip includes at least one cutting protrusion and associated chip cutting edge to split the chip formed by the at least one cutting edge, for producing chips during machining which are of a width that is sufficiently reduced to allow proper evacuation or removal.

Machining system and cutting insert and methods

The present invention provides a novel drill insert having chipbreakers, or chip splitting grooves formed through the cutting surfaces. The cutting tool insert has a specialized geometry including a chip splitting groove formed at a negative rake angle. The chip splitting grooves increase the cutting efficiency of the tool while allowing the edge strength to be increased while also allowing higher feed rates.

A coin-operated message display system used by the public under the control or censorship of a system operator. Typical uses are in skating rinks, convention halls, stadiums and other public gathering places. The user inserts a coin, dollar bill or combination thereof to activate the message insertion process. A joy stick controls movement of a cursor to position it over a letter or symbol to be selected in forming the message. An input button is depressed to make an individual selection so as to fill spaces on a matrix in sequential fashion. A delete button and a backspace button facilitate changes and corrections. When the desired message is completed, the user has the option of selecting how the message will enter and exit the display board. The user then presses the transmit button. This signals the system operator at the main central processing unit who reads the message and either approves or disapproves the message. If approved, the message is stored in a memory unit for display in time sequence. If disapproved, the message is deleted from the memory. The system operator can also enter messages and fixed advertising messages are also interspersed on the display panel.
