This disclosure relates to the aspermatogenesis activity of

Indolamine derivatives as anti-fertility agents

2-amino-5-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles, e.g., 2-amino-5-(3-trifluoromethylbenzyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole, prepared, e.g., by ring closure, of corresponding 1-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkanoyl)-thiosemicarbazide in a strong acid medium. The compounds are useful as minor tranquilizers and sleep inducers.

2-Amino-5-(trifluoromethylphenylalkyl)-1,3,4 thiadiazoles used in the

2-amino-5-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkyl)-thiadiazoles, e.g., 2-amino-5-(4-[phenylbutyl])-thiadiazole, prepared, e.g., by ring closure, of corresponding 1-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkanoyl)-thiosemicarbazide in a strong acid medium. The compounds are useful as minor tranquilizers and sedative hypnotics.

Amino and substituted amino-hydrazinopyridazines, e.g., 4-methyl-amino-3-hydrazinopyridazine and 4-ethylamino-6-chloro-3-hydrazinopyridazine, are prepared from 3,4,6-trihalopyridazines and are active as hypotensive/antihypertensive agents.

Substituted amino-hydrazinopyridazines

N-substituted-4-t-butyl-1-pyridinethiocarboxamides, e.g. N-methyl-4-t-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-1-pyridinethiocarboxamides, are prepared by treating 4-t-butyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine with a substituted isothiocyanate and are useful as anti-inflammatory and non-narcotic analgesic agents.

N-substituted-4-T-butyl-1-pyridinethiocarboxamides and their use for

2-amino-5-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles, e.g., 2-amino-5-(3-trifluoromethylbenzyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole, prepared, e.g., by ring closure, of corresponding 1-(substituted or unsubstituted phenylalkanoyl)-thio-semicarbazide in a strong acid medium. The compounds are useful as minor tranquilizers and sleep inducers.

2-Amino-5-(trifluoromethyl phenylalkyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles

N,N'-disubstituted-p-phenylenediamines, e.g., N-(3-isopropoxypropyl)-N'-(2-octyl)-p-phenylenediamine or N-phenethyl-N'-(2-octyl)-p-phenylenediamine, are prepared by condensing phenylenediamines with an alkyl carbonyl in the presence of a reducing catalyst, and are useful as hypolipidemic and anti-obesity agents.

Certain hydroxy diphenylalkyls, e.g., nordihydroguairetic acid, are useful as hypolipidemic agents.

Hydroxy substituted diphenylalkyls for treatment of lipidemia

Sulfuric acid esters of bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-methane and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, e.g., sodium bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-methane sulfuric acid diester, are useful in the treatment of Lipidemia.
