This unique and novel invention provides a telescoping level device used to effectively and efficiently measure the slope of objects and surfaces. The device comprises a telescoping arm, a ball joint, a level, and one or more contactors. The device allows the user to easily, accurately, and quickly verify the in-situ slope of pipes as well as a plurality of other objects and surfaces. The length and angle of the telescoping arm, relative to the level, are adjustable to prevent the user from unnecessarily stooping, kneeling, or climbing.

Telescoping level device

A method and apparatus for reducing unnecessary elevator service calls by cycling open and shut a nonresponsive car's door, is disclosed. The doors are cycled in the presence of car demand and indications the car door is shut but the hoistway door is ajar. The doors are cycled only after these conditions persist for a selected period.

Remote monitoring system state machine and method

Apparatus for applying a releasable tension to an anchored strap extended over, or connected to, a load carried on a platform. The apparatus comprises a housing, a torsion element for strap recoil, a winching rotor for operatively interconnecting the torsion element and the inboard end of the strap, and a nonincremental clamping assembly for releasably engaging the middle of a strap between the ends. Tension is first supplied to the anchored strap by action of the torsion element on the rotor. Thereafter, further tension is applied to the anchored strap by a winching force applied to the rotor. The tension of the anchored strap is maintained by engagement of the clamping assembly with the strap.

Winch load fastening apparatus

A mailbox standard is presented which includes a hollow steel post, pointed at one end, for driving into the ground. A collar fits over the post and is adjustably secured thereto by means of a setscrew or the like. Extending upwardly and obliquely from the collar is a truss having an adjustable support bracket pivotally maintained at the end thereof. The support bracket is adapted for receiving various sizes of mailboxes in any of numerous positions of alignment with respect to the post itself. The invention also includes a collar maintained upon the truss for receiving a newspaper receptacle or the like.

Adjustable mailbox standard

An apparatus selectively attached to a vehicle for carrying a load on a platform. The apparatus frame comprises horizontally extending struts carrying the platform and telescopically positioned within and secured to brackets mounted on the vehicle frame. The outer end of a strut houses a fastening assembly for applying a releasable tension to an anchored strap extended over, or connected to, a load carried on the platform. The strap may be anchored to the load, the apparatus frame, or the vehicle. The inner end of a strut houses components of an electrical circuit assembly for supplying current to signal lights on the apparatus frame. The lights may be illuminated when the struts are correctly positioned for securing to the brackets mounted on the vehicle frame.
