An end sealed metering apparatus includes a cylindrical metering roll mounted for rotation about a central longitudinal axis, a blade aligned with the longitudinal axis and contacting the metering roll, an elastomeric seal supported against an end of the metering roll, a rigid plate coupled with the elastomeric seal for holding the elastomeric seal stationary while the metering roll rotates, and a spring for urging the rigid plate and elastomeric seal against the end of the metering roll.

Apparatus for sealing a metering roll

An improved fusing apparatus including a baffle assembly having at least one member for imparting an arcuate-shaped profile in a sheet of recording substrate subsequent to the transport thereof through a fuser nip. The arcuate-shaped profile is imparted along a generally central axis of the recording substrate, substantially perpendicular to the path of movement thereof, providing lateral strength to the substrate for eliminating the formation of longitudinal waves therein.

Recording substrate wave restrictor

A release agent management (RAM) system including a metering roll supported for contact with release agent material contained in a sump. A donor roll is provided for applying oil deposited on its surface by the metering roll. Prior to fusing taking place, the donor roll is supported in pressure engagement with the fuser roll and out of contact with the metering roll. During fusing the donor roll is cammed into engagement with the metering roll.

Spring loaded oil distributing preheated donor roll

An apparatus in which at least a pair of developer rollers deposit toner particles on an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive member to render it visible. One of the rollers rotates at a first tangential velocity being spaced a first distance from the photoconductive member. The other roller rotates at a second tangential velocity being spaced a second distance from the photoconductive member. The second tangential velocity is greater than the first tangential velocity with the second distance being less than the first distance.

High speed magnetic brush development system

An optical system in which successive color filtered light images pass through a screen positioned at discrete preselected angles. An un-filtered light image is transmitted through the screen with the screen being positioned at one of the preselected angles for the filtered light image.
