The present invention relates to an adhesive article comprising a bondable layer having on at least one major surface a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive, wherein the bondable layer comprises a thermosetting material, a thermoplastic material, or a hybrid material, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive layer substantially retains pressure sensitive adhesive characteristics after storage at room temperature for at least about three months prior to bonding the adhesive article, and the adhesive article has a overlap shear measured at room temperature according to ASTM D-1002-94 of at least about 6.9 MPa after bonding as well as a method for making an adhesive article.

Veneer tape for temporarily joining pieces of veneer to be bonded to a substrate, for example, core board. The present invention also provides a method of forming a veneer assembly.

Veneer tape and method of use

A method of using a coversheet to remove a plurality of pieces of temporary tape from a laminated assembly. In particular, a method of using a coversheet to remove a plurality of pieces of pressure sensitive adhesive tape from a laminated veneer assembly. The coversheet and the pressure sensitive adhesive tape are selected such that after application of heat and pressure during the veneer lamination process, the back of the tape bonds to the surface of the coversheet. After lamination, the coversheet is removed with the pieces of tape bonded thereto. In this manner, the large number of pieces of tape do not have to be removed individually.

Method of removing temporary tape from a laminated assembly with a coversheet

A method for maintaining a plurality of wood veneer substrates in fixed relation to each other that includes positioning a plurality of wood veneer substrates in relation to each other, and applying a tape to the substrates to maintain the substrates in fixed relation to each other. The tape is capable of maintaining wood veneer substrates in fixed relation to each other before and during a lamination process in which the substrates are laminated to an underlying base, and is cleanly removable from the substrates following the lamination process.
