Determining location of a Backscatter Devices (BKD) may be provided. A first quadrant of the first AP where the BKD is potentially located based on a first signal level, a second signal level, and a third signal level. A second quadrant of a second AP where the BKD is potentially located may be determined. A third quadrant of a third AP where the BKD is potentially located may be determined. A location of the BKD may be determined at an intersection of the first quadrant, the second quadrant, and the third quadrant.

Determining location of a backscatter device

In one embodiment, a device receives discovery data generated by a plurality of networking devices in a network. The device determines, based on the discovery data, a hierarchy of layers of the network. The device receives a request by a client that is external to the network to access remotely a particular endpoint in the network. The device configures, and in response to the request, a proxy chain of remote access agents executed by a subset of networking devices from the plurality of networking devices to allow the client to access remotely the particular endpoint, each of those networking devices proxying traffic between different layers of the network.

Multi-layered secure equipment access

A method comprising: at an access point configured with a first basic service set identifier (BSSID): performing an association process by which one or more wireless stations wirelessly associate to the access point using the first BSSID; and while the one or more wireless stations remain associated to the access point: sending, to the one or more wireless stations, a protected management frame configured to indicate that the access point will rotate from the first BSSID to a second BSSID; after sending, rotating from the first BSSID to the second BSSID while maintaining continuity of association to the one or more wireless stations; and after rotating, communicating with the one or more wireless stations using the second BSSID.

Station association continuity across access point MAC address rotations

Access point devices can be equipped with Machine Learning (ML) models to improve access point device operations. An access point device operating mode can be sent to a controller. The access point device operating mode can indicate multiple network protocols employed at the access point device. The controller can provide a coarse ML model to the access point device, wherein the coarse ML model is based on the operating mode. The access point device can then use local network traffic data, processed by the access point device, to train and refine the coarse ML model, and the access point device can use the resulting trained ML model in connection with network traffic processing determinations.

Configuration of multi-personality access points

Methods are provided to determine validity of a MAC address. The methods involve obtaining a media access control (MAC) address validity message that indicates a plurality of valid MAC addresses in the wireless network using a fully-exploded format or a probabilistic data structure and determining whether a MAC address is valid based on the MAC address validity message. Other methods involve obtaining a query regarding a validity of a media access control (MAC) address, determining whether the MAC address is a value included in a data set of expected values of a probabilistic data structure. The data set represents a list of MAC addresses. The other methods involve determining whether the MAC address is valid in the wireless network based on determining whether the MAC address is the value included in the data set and providing a response indicating whether the MAC address is valid.

Preventing abuse of media access control addresses by rogue devices

A method comprising: at a multi-link device (MLD) configured for multi-link operation: establishing a first Internet Protocol (IP) stack of a first IP type and configured with a first IP address of the first IP type, wherein the first IP stack is associated to a first MLD media access control (MAC) address of a first station of the MLD; establishing a second IP stack of a second IP type and configured with a second IP address of the second IP type, wherein the second IP stack exists concurrently with the first IP stack and is associated to a second MLD MAC address of a second station of the MLD; and exchanging, with a peer MLD, IP traffic using one or more of (i) the first IP stack and the first MLD MAC address, and (ii) the second IP stack and the second MLD MAC address.

Seamless MAC address rotation in multi-link device using multiple IP stacks

A system and method for using 802.11v action report messages to enhance roaming. In one embodiment, a method includes transmitting, to a station, a transition management message that identifies a recommended access point for roaming for the station, receiving, from the station, an action report in response to the transition management message, where the action report indicates feedback to the recommended access point identified in the transition management message, and determining a roaming recommendation based on the action report.

Disclosed herein are a system and method for efficiently routing high-priority frames through a wireless network based on markings of the frames by a data link layer, a network layer, or an application layer in a five-layer protocol stack. When a real-time application, such as a video or gaming application, is to be sent to one or more stations in the wireless network, the access point determines the strategy for routing the high-priority frames based on the markings received from the data link, network, or application layer. Strategies include discarding non-I frames when there is congestion in the wireless network, replicating I-frames to assure reliable delivery to the stations, scheduling I-frames with preference, and moving I-frames ahead in a buffer in the access point.

Quality of service enhancements for video and extended reality applications over wireless networks

Secure communication with a Backscatter Device (BKD) may be provided. A temporal key may be created. The temporal key and a network Identifier (ID) may be encrypted with a public key of a public private key pair associated with the BKD. An excitation frame including the encrypted temporal key and the encrypted network ID may be transmitted to the BKD. The AMP BKD may include a sensor. A BKD frame may be received from the BKD in response to the excitation frame. The BKD frame may include a sensor data encoded with the temporal key and the network ID as a target destination. The BKD frame may be signed using a private key of the public private key pair.

Secure communication with a backscatter device

A method for providing adaptive radio transmit power based on antenna pattern and elevation tilt measured through an accelerometer is provided. The method includes estimating an orientation of a wireless device using an orientation sensor integrated in or on the wireless device, and determining an adjustment factor for a transmitter of the wireless device based on the orientation. The method further includes adjusting output power of the transmitter of the wireless device based on the adjustment factor.

Adaptive radio transmit power based on antenna/device orientation

Differentiated service in a federation-based access network is provided by receiving a set of credentials from a User Equipment (UE) for a wireless network offering a plurality of service levels. In response to determining that the set of credentials indicate a realm associated with a given service level, network access is provided to the UE according to the given service level. In response to determining that the given service level is not a highest service level in the wireless network, a list of one or more preferred realms is transmitted to the UE, where each realm of the list of one or more preferred realms is associated with one or more higher service levels than the given service level.

Differentiated service in a federation-based access network

Disclosed are a system and method for avoiding interference in direct communication between peers in a Wi-Fi network. A station (STA) desiring to communicate directly with another STA reports a change in interference to a function that determines a set of unsafe frequencies caused by interference near the STA. The function sends a report containing the set of unsafe frequencies to the AP for the STA. The AP then evaluates the severity of the interference and selects a set of RUs that are suitable for a TXOP for direct communication between the STA and another STA. The AP informs the STAs of the selected set of RUs, and the STAs communicate with each other using the selected RUs. If allowed, the STA sends feedback regarding the success of the communication to the AP.

Peer-to-peer communication in Wi-Fi networks in presence of interference

Provided herein are techniques to facilitate slice assignment for a wireless device based on Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) parameters associated with the wireless device. In one instance, a method may include obtaining, by a provisioning server of a mobile network, a usage description object for a wireless device that has a session via an onboarding network slice of the mobile network in which the usage description object comprises usage parameters associated with the wireless device. The method may further include identifying, based on the usage parameters associated with the wireless device, a particular network slice that is to host the session for the wireless device and causing the session of the wireless device to be moved from the onboarding network slice to the particular network slice.

Providing network slice assignment for a wireless device based on manufacturer usage description (MUD) parameters

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request from an access point to transmit to a TSN data payload to a wireless TSN station, identifying resource units (RUs) in a downlink channel, each RU comprising a set of RU tones, identifying access category (AC) queues, multiplexing the RUs and AC queues to generate RU and AC queue pairs, generating timing boundaries of the pairs, wherein each timing boundary represents a combination of an average airtime of each RU and an average wait time of each AC queue for transmitting a size of the TSN data payload, iteratively validating the timing boundaries with a TSN lookahead time, and determining a first RU tone from a first RU associated with a first timing boundary less than the TSN lookahead time to transmit the TSN data payload in a first AC queue to the wireless TSN station.

Implementing deterministic traffic delivery in a time-sensitive networking system

Adapting transmission schedules in a Radio Frequency (RF) environment may be provided. A Central Network Controller (CNC) of a Time Sensitive Network (TSN) may determine that a data path to a client device comprises a wireless link. The CNC of the TSN may generate a proposed transmission schedule for the time sensitive traffic to the client device through the wireless link in response to determining that the data path to the client device comprises the wireless link. The CNC may provide the proposed transmission schedule to a Wireless Network Controller (WLC) of the wireless link. The CNC may receive a confirmation from the WLC that the proposed transmission schedule can be met. The proposed transmission schedule may be configured in response to receiving the confirmation.
